RootSmith Docs

Introduction

RootSmith finds the questions your buyers ask AI assistants, then plans, writes, publishes, and measures the pages that get you named in the answers.

RootSmith tracks what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, and Google's AI Overviews say about your buyers' questions. It finds the gaps, writes source-checked pages in your brand's voice, publishes them on your own domain, and shows whether they get you cited.

How setup works

  1. Add your website. RootSmith reads it and drafts your brand profile.
  2. Check your brand profile. Fix anything that's off and add what we couldn't find.
  3. Choose your questions. Pick the questions buyers ask AI assistants. RootSmith checks whether the answers name you.
  4. Get your first ideas. RootSmith suggests pages from your brand profile and the questions buyers ask AI assistants.
  5. Write your first page. Pick an idea and RootSmith researches, writes, and checks it.
  6. Connect your website so approved pages go live on your domain. Do it any time before you publish.

Your AI agent can do every step with you, from Claude, Codex, Cursor, or any MCP client. You can also do each step in the dashboard.

Docs for AI agents

These docs are written for people and for agents.

  • /llms.txt lists every page with a short summary.
  • /llms-full.txt has every page in one file.
  • Add .md to any page URL to get its Markdown. A request with Accept: text/markdown also gets Markdown.
  • Each page has Copy Markdown and Open buttons to hand it to an agent.
