[ Free and open source ]
Your AI models and coding agents in one desktop app.
Chat with any model on your own keys or your own hardware, hand it the work, and run Claude Code and Codex side by side. No account.
That scene could not load. or open the app in a new tab.
Chat is the agent now. Ask for something and it reads the code, edits it, runs the tests and shows each step: the diff, the command and the files it changed.
What it does, shown in the app itself.
-
It reads the files, edits them and runs the commands, in a folder you choose. Plan first and it waits for your approval.
More on Chat -
Always-on agents with a name and a job. Up to four work at once in a group chat, each handing the next one what it needs.
More on Workers -
Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and Eaon Code in real terminals, each on a branch of its own. An agent reviews a pull request before anything is posted.
More on the ADE -
Separate from your Chrome, in a panel beside the chat. You watch Eaon’s cursor move to each thing before it clicks or types.
More on the browser -
Every provider is in one list, and the thread carries over.
More on models -
Eaon’s own llama.cpp, plus Ollama and LM Studio. Works with the Wi‑Fi off.
More on local models -
Hold one key to dictate in Chat, Workers and the ADE. The words land in the box for you to edit.
More on voice
Works with the agents you already use.
The ADE runs any coding CLI in a real terminal. Mix them per task, or keep your favourite.

##Your data stays here
Conversations live on your machine, in Eaon’s own folder. There is no Eaon account and no cloud copy: a chat only leaves your computer as the request to the model you picked.
API keys are encrypted with the operating system’s keychain: the macOS Keychain, Windows DPAPI, or libsecret on Linux.
##Prefer the terminal?
The same models and the same keys, in a terminal agent that can read and write files in your project.
npm install -g eaon-cli
The installed command is eaon. Read the CLI docs
##Questions
Is it really free?
Yes. The app has no paid tier and no account to create. You pay whichever model provider you pick, or you pay nobody and run a model on your own hardware.
Do I need an API key?
Only for hosted models, and not always then: ChatGPT, Hugging Face and Poe let you sign in instead. Local models need no key and no connection. You can use both in the same conversation.
Where are my conversations stored?
On your machine, in Eaon’s own folder. There is no Eaon account and no cloud copy: a chat only leaves your computer as the request to the model you picked.
What is an ADE?
An agentic development environment: one window for running AI coding agents instead of one terminal per agent. Eaon has one built in, the ADE tab. It runs Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode and the rest side by side, each session on a git branch of its own.
Will macOS warn me on first launch?
No. The app is signed and notarized, so it opens the way any other installed app does.
