A PDF you can verify before you download
Before download, check the paper, document dimensions, page count and scale status. The result card tells you exactly what was created and how to print it without accidental resizing.
Choose a PDF preset
Each preset opens the same local tool with recommended paper, document size and layout. Actual-size placement is available in every preset when the documents fit the page.
Your ID photos stay on this device
Edge detection, perspective correction, layout and PDF generation happen in the browser. Analytics records only task steps and success states—not file names, images, OCR text or document numbers.
Questions about this task
Are my ID photos uploaded?
No conversion server is needed for the core workflow. Photos are decoded, processed and written into the PDF in the browser.
How do I scan an ID card to PDF on iPhone or Android?
Open this page in Safari or Chrome, tap Choose photos or Take a photo, and the document is straightened on the device. Save the finished PDF to Files or share it directly.
Can the ID card front and back go on one page?
Yes. Front & back mode places two photos on one PDF page. Some applications, print workflows and single-file submissions request this layout; always follow the receiving organization's instructions.
Is the ID placed at actual size?
Yes, when the selected document fits the page. ID2PDF places standard IDs at their real physical dimensions and clearly warns if a custom size must be scaled down.
Should I choose A4 or US Letter?
Use US Letter for most United States workflows. Use A4 for China, Europe, Japan and many other regions. Every task preset chooses a sensible default that you can change.
How should I print an actual-size ID PDF?
Open the print dialog, choose Actual size or 100%, and turn off Fit to page or Scale to fit. Printer scaling can change the physical size even when the PDF is correct.
Do I need to install an app or sign up?
No. The scanner runs in any modern browser with no account, and photos never leave your device.
What if the automatic crop is wrong?
The edit flow keeps a manual corner-adjustment entry so a low-confidence crop can be corrected before export.
How do the free trial and Web Pro work?
Try one PDF export per browser, with up to two cards. Signing in does not add another trial. Web Pro is $3.99/month or $19.99 for lifetime access to the current core web features. Both include PDF exports without per-photo charges, up to 30 cards per PDF and 30 MB per photo. The iOS app is sold separately. Previously granted credits remain available under their original rules.
