THE PROBLEM

The soil that feeds the world is degrading faster than it recovers

Farmers are stuck in a negative feedback loop - more chemical inputs, diminishing yields, rising costs. Meanwhile, every five seconds another soccer field of fertile soil is lost to erosion. The system that feeds 8 billion people is eroding the ground it depends on. Yet farmers cannot simply stop.

more than

90%

of the world’s soils could become degraded by 2050 if current trends continue.

Our mission is to remove gigatons of CO₂ while advancing regenerative agriculture

InPlanet is scaling Enhanced Rock Weathering across Brazil to restore tropical soils, reduce reliance on conventional agricultural inputs, and permanently remove CO₂.

ENHANCED ROCK WEATHERING

Nature invented this process.

We made it fast enough to matter.

For millions of years, rainwater has broken down silicate rock and locked away CO₂. By finely grinding basalt and spreading it across warm, wet, tropical farmland, we accelerate weathering from millions of years to just a few years, capturing carbon and regenerating soils with every rainfall.

OUR APPROACH

From quarry to verified credits in four steps

Image

01

Source

We source basalt from local mines and connect with tropical farmers.

Image

02

Apply

Our farmers apply finely crushed basalt to their fields.

Image

03

Weather

Rainwater reacts with basalt, capturing CO2 in a stable bicarbonate.

04

Measure

Our MRV approach ensures high-integrity carbon removal credits.

WHY BRAZIL

The best place on Earth to weather rock

With abundant basalt reserves, intense rainfall, degraded soils, and one of the world’s largest agricultural sectors, Brazil is where enhanced rock weathering can scale.

These world-first Enhanced Weathering (EW) credits are a key step to scaling carbon removal. They bring an unprecedented level of scientific rigor to a pathway that has great potential, but which has lacked robust verification until now. The transparent data behind these credits shows that Isometric’s high quality, verified EW credits represent a tonne of carbon dioxide removed from the atmosphere and should be a key part of every CDR buyer’s portfolio.
