Drag them around. Fling one to the edge to dock it.
Not in the library? Say it
Type one line. Kakuchi works out the data, the layout and the look, then puts a live widget on your desktop. Scores, history, what's eating your memory, or a game.
Describe a widget
- fetchlive scores feed
- layout4 matches · score and clock
- themefollows your desktop
- placeon your desktop
A demo with sample data. The real builder writes the widget with your Claude or ChatGPT plan, or your own key, and shows live data.
- Uses the AI plan you already pay for
- Asks before going online, running commands or reading files
- API keys stay in your Keychain
Every corner of your Mac
On the desktop, in the notch, in the menu bar, on the lock screen, above full-screen apps, or tucked into the edge.
One click. Whole desktop
A mood sets a backdrop and a theme in one click. Your widgets stay where they are and take on its look. It draws over your wallpaper, so yours stays as it is. Love one? Make it your real wallpaper in one click.

Focus. Quiet, dark and one thing at a time. Midnight theme.
Someone’s whole desktop, in one click
A setup is a desktop in a single file: the widgets, where they sit, the theme and the wallpaper. Open one and your desktop becomes theirs. Put yours back whenever you like.
Browse ready-made setups

Opening a setup shows what’s inside before anything changes, including any widget that can run commands on your Mac.
Settings › Setups › Save My Desktop as a Setup. Your API keys and other secrets are never included.
Send the file to anyone with Kakuchi. It lands in the right place on their screen, even if it's a different size.
Put My Desktop Back returns your own widgets, theme and wallpaper exactly as they were.
Drop widgets onto each other to make a stack. Swipe through it, or let it rotate on its own.

Arrange lays every widget out in a clean grid. Scroll to watch it happen.

Ten looks for every widget
Set one for everything or give each widget its own. Light and dark follow your Mac.

Not for now. Kakuchi is a one-time purchase: $14.99 at launch, down from the regular $24. If it isn't for you, there's a 14-day money-back guarantee.
No. You pay once and there's no monthly fee. Updates are free for life, and you keep what you bought.
Yes, the download is free, but Kakuchi needs a licence key to turn on, so you'll be asked for one when you open it. Buying gives you the key right away, and the 14-day money-back guarantee means you can still change your mind.
Yes. Email us within 14 days of buying and we'll refund you in full, with no reason needed.
AI
Not to us. The widget builder uses the AI you already have. If you pay for Claude or ChatGPT, sign in to Claude Code or Codex and Kakuchi uses that plan, with no API key. You can also use your own API key for Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, or a free model on your Mac through Ollama or LM Studio.
Yes. In Settings › AI, choose Subscription and pick Claude Code (Claude Pro or Max) or Codex (ChatGPT Plus or Pro). You sign in through the official tool, never through Kakuchi, and Kakuchi never sees or stores your sign-in. Widgets you build count toward your plan's usage limits.
MCP is an open standard that lets compatible assistants and coding tools connect to apps. Kakuchi exposes 15 tools, so a connected tool can read the docs, build a widget, inspect a screenshot, fix it and place it on your desktop. You don't need it. The built-in builder works without it.
No. Previews never run commands. A widget that runs commands, uses the network or reads files is listed in the install sheet and needs your approval. The assistant can only edit or delete widgets it made itself.
Places
Yes. The shelf opens from the same spot at the top centre of the screen. Now Playing also shows beside it while music plays.
Yes. Right-click a widget and choose Show on Lock Screen. It's off by default, because anyone at your Mac can see it. Widget buttons work there.
Yes. Pin it and it floats above everything, including full-screen apps and calls, and you can still click and drag it. Turn on Let Clicks Through for a widget and it fades when your pointer comes close, so it never blocks what's underneath (hold ⌘ to use it). Flick it at the left or right edge to dock it, with a tab to bring it back.
Your Mac
A widget only reads data while it's on screen, and everything pauses while your display sleeps. Data sources start and stop on demand.
macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Real Liquid Glass needs macOS 26, and earlier systems get the standard macOS blur.
Yes. Show a widget on the main display, on all displays, or on a specific one, and the notch shelf follows your pointer.
Yes. Point Kakuchi at your widgets folder and they run as they are, or install them from the classic widget gallery.
Yes. Settings › Setups saves your whole desktop, with its widgets, layout, theme and wallpaper, as one file to share. Open someone else's to install it, and Put My Desktop Back returns yours.
Kakuchi is made by Himanshu Arora, an independent developer. Every email to support@kakuchi.app reaches him directly, and many of the widgets came from people asking for them.
Some features, like the lock screen and keep on top, use system capabilities the App Store doesn't allow. You download Kakuchi directly from this site.
Privacy
Into your Mac's Keychain. It's used only to talk to the provider you chose, and it's never sent to Kakuchi.
There's no account. Widgets declare the websites they talk to, and keys and secrets are kept in your Keychain. Nothing leaves your Mac unless a widget you approved sends it.
Pay once. Keep it
