Every gymhas aleaderboard.
Witnessed lifts. A new crown every season. A Strength Shape that’s yours. Compete with the people you actually train next to.
Free to compete. We’ll email you when it’s live, and nothing else.
Lift it. Prove it. Own it.
No honor system, no video uploads. Someone who was there confirms every lift that reaches the board.
Load the bar.
Check in at your gym, tap the plates you lifted and log the rep. Only true singles rank.

Get it witnessed.
A gym partner who watched scans your code and confirms it was a full rep. Both of you have to be checked in.

Take the crown.
Top the board and the crown is yours, with your name on the gym’s champ card until someone takes it.

The crown is never safe.
Every gym has four crowns: squat, bench, deadlift and press. Season crowns reset three times a year. All-time records never do.
PRs worth posting.
Every witnessed PR and every crown becomes a story card: your number, the plates on the bar and who saw it.
- Crown cards say who you took it from
- “Witnessed by” is on every card
- Every card links to your page at rackrank.com/@you
A leaderboard you can actually believe.
Every part of the board is built so the number next to a name means something.
Witnessed by someone who was there
A gym partner scans your code and confirms the lift. Both of you have to be checked in, so it can’t be faked from across town.
Only true singles rank. Estimated maxes stay private, just for you.
Checked in, or it doesn’t count
Lifts only reach a gym’s board when you’re actually there.
Unusual lifts get a second look
Results far outside what’s plausible are held for review instead of landing on the board.
Your visibility, your call
Choose how your name shows, and hide from Training now whenever you like.
Full reps, every time
Before confirming, your witness sees the standard for that lift: squat with your hip crease below the knee, bench touching your chest, deadlift to full lockout. Half reps don’t take crowns.
Every crown shows its witness
Tap any crown to see who was there.
Don’t be the one who breaks the streak.
Start a crew with up to five friends and pick how many days a week everyone trains. Check-ins, workouts and logged sets all count. Someone misses, it starts over for all of you.
How does witnessing work?
After you log a new best, a QR code appears on your phone. Someone who watched the lift, and is checked in at the gym with you, scans it and confirms it was a full rep. Because you both have to be checked in, it can’t be done from across town. If your witness isn’t on Rack Rank yet, the code gets them signed up first.
What counts as a full rep?
Squat: hip crease below the top of the knee. Bench: the bar touches your chest. Deadlift: standing tall at full lockout. Press: arms locked out overhead. Your witness sees the standard for your lift before they confirm it.
What if nobody at my gym is on it yet?
Then every crown is unclaimed, and your first witnessed lift takes one. Anyone with a witnessed lift in a gym’s first 30 days becomes a Founding Lifter there for good. Until your gym fills up, you’ll also see where you rank across nearby gyms.
What are seasons?
Each gym’s board runs in three seasons a year: spring (January to May), summer (June and July) and fall (August to December). Season crowns reset when a new season starts, so anyone can take one. All-time records never reset, and whoever holds a crown at the end of a season keeps the medal.
What’s a Strength Shape?
A six-sided shape on your profile that shows where you’re strongest: legs, push, hinge, overhead, pull and cardio. It’s built from your witnessed bests and scored against your bodyweight, so it’s fair at any size. It shows once you have three movement types witnessed.
Do machine and dumbbell lifts count?
Yes. Leg press, chest press, dumbbell bench, pulldowns and more all count toward your Strength Shape. Machines vary from gym to gym, so they top out one level below the best free-weight lifts.
What’s Racked?
Your season in review. At the end of every season you’ll see what you racked up, including the crowns you took, your best witnessed lifts and how your Strength Shape changed, ready to post. The first one arrives at the end of the spring season.
What’s a crew?
You and up to five friends. Your crew picks how many days a week everyone trains, and the streak grows every week you all hit it.
Do rep sets count for the leaderboard?
Only true single-rep lifts rank on the board, the same standard real meets use. Rep sets still save to your history and estimate your max, but that estimate is for you alone.
Do I have to compete against anyone?
No. My Workouts is a separate side of the app for building a split or chasing a personal record, with no leaderboard involved.
Who can see that I’m at the gym?
Only lifters at the same gym, and only while you’re checked in. You can hide yourself from Training now at any time in one tap, and you can still see who else is there.
Is it free?
Yes. Every leaderboard is free, forever: your gym, your school and beyond, plus checking in, logging, crowns, seasons, your Strength Shape, share cards, crews, weekly challenges and splits. An optional Pro plan with training tools comes later, and it will never lock the boards.
What gyms does it work at?
Any gym. Rack Rank is launching first at Kennesaw State University’s recreation centers, then expanding from there.
Be there for the
first crown.
We’ll email you the moment it’s live, and nothing else.
