Installation

JumpServer has two installation paths. Choose the one that matches your edition and network environment.

EditionInstallation methodUse when
Community EditionOnline one-line commandThe server has outbound internet access and you want the latest community release
Enterprise EditionOffline installation packageYou have an Enterprise license and deploy in a restricted or air-gapped network
Note

Both editions require a clean 64-bit Linux server with at least 4 CPU cores and 8 GB of memory. Use a host that you can dedicate to JumpServer; do not reuse a server that already runs conflicting web or database services.

JumpServer Enterprise Edition

Custom RBAC, multi-tenant organizations, enterprise SSO, and SLA-backed support. 14-day free trial, no credit card required.

Before you begin

  • Prepare a clean Linux server (64-bit, at least 4c8g).
  • Sign in as root or a user with superuser privileges.
  • Confirm the server can reach its package source:
    • Community Edition: outbound HTTPS access to GitHub.
    • Enterprise Edition: the offline package from your delivery team.
  • Decide the host name or IP address that users will use to access JumpServer.

Community Edition: online installation

The Community Edition is installed with a one-line command that downloads and runs the current installer. Use this path when the server has internet access.

1

Change to the /opt directory.

cd /opt
2

Run the online installation command.

curl -sSL https://github.com/jumpserver/jumpserver/releases/latest/download/quick_start.sh | bash
3

Wait for the installer to finish. It downloads the required images and starts the JumpServer services.

4

Open https://<jumpserver-host>/ in a current browser.

Note

Replace <jumpserver-host> with the IP address or domain name of the server.

5

Sign in with the initial administrator account:

  • Username: admin
  • Password: ChangeMe
6

Change the password when prompted, then sign in again. Installation is complete.

Enterprise Edition: offline package installation

The Enterprise Edition is installed from an offline package provided by the JumpServer delivery team. The package contains the images and dependencies needed for a deployment without internet access. An Enterprise license is required.

1

Obtain the Enterprise offline package and license from your delivery team. Confirm that the package version and CPU architecture match the target server.

2

Sign in as root, then change to /opt.

cd /opt
3

Place the offline package in /opt. You can upload it from the delivery portal or download it with wget if the server can reach the download URL.

Upload
wget
1

Download the package from the offline package site provided by the delivery team.

2

Upload the package to /opt on the deployment server.

4

Extract the package.

tar -zxvf jumpserver-ee-v5.1.1-x86_64.tar.gz
5

Change to the extracted directory.

cd jumpserver-ee-v5.1.1-x86_64
6

Run the installer. The default options are sufficient for a standard deployment; you can adjust the configuration files afterward.

./jmsctl.sh install
7

Start the services.

./jmsctl.sh start
8

Confirm that the services are running and healthy.

./jmsctl status

The core services include jms_core, jms_postgresql, and jms_redis.
