This one change dropped my app's trial-to-paid conversion from 70% to 9% :( My free trial used to need a credit card. This summer I dropped the card so more people would try it. 3x more people tried it. Far fewer paid. Last week I put the card back. Let's see how it goes.

Adding a little delight to the most boring page in my app. Before: "Your payment was successful!" After: "You're in." Plus a little joke: every time you press play, a bell rings in my studio and I DJ for you live. I thought of this thanks to Derek Sivers.
