We knew we could use an efficient algorithm for NP problems to find proofs of mathematical theorems. In my 2022 CACM article, I wrote "we sit a long way from my dream task of taking one of my research papers, with its informal proofs, and having an AI system fill in the details and verify the proof." Less than five years later, I learned that I didn't dream big enough. 1/2
