How it works

Three moments that change a habit.

  1. 01

    Choose your limits

Pick the apps and sites that pull you in and give each a daily limit. Home shows how today is going—in minutes, not guilt.

  2. 02

    Meet a short pause

At your limit, Zenmo covers the app with a calm screen: how long you've spent, how often you've opened it, and one question—what brings you here?

  3. 03

    Decide on purpose

Close the app and it counts as a win. Or finish a quick exercise, or use one of your weekly breaks. Either way, it was your call.

Try the pause

11:48 PM. Your thumb opened TikTok before you decided to.

This is the exercise Zenmo shows at your limit. Solve it and the app opens for five minutes. Close it instead, and that counts as a win.

Modes

Focus should fit real life.

Pick the mode that matches your week. Your limits keep working in every one of them.

Stricter now. Looser later.

Tightening a limit applies instantly. Raising one waits 24 hours, and switching to a looser mode waits an hour—long enough for the impulse to pass.

Insights

Progress you can actually trust.

Zenmo measures your first week before it claims anything. After that, every day is compared with that honest baseline—and every time you chose not to open an app counts as a win.

  • Measured against your own first week
  • Only the apps you chose to limit
  • No streaks to break, no shame

Circle · optional

Make a promise to someone you trust.

Wrap a promise around a limit you already have—say, under 30 minutes of Instagram until Sunday. Your Supporter only confirms that you kept it. They can't change your limits or see your phone.

  • No money involved—Karma has no cash value
  • Ending a promise early is neutral
  • Zenmo works fully without an account

Make it yours

Five moods. One calm pause.

Zenmo re-skins the whole app live—color, type, corners, and motion. The pause stays calm and legible in every one.

FAQ

Straight answers before you install.

What is Zenmo?

Zenmo is a free screen-time app for adults. It adds a short, on-device pause in front of the apps and websites you choose: at your limit you answer one question about why you're opening the app, then close it, finish a quick exercise, or use a weekly break.

How is Zenmo different from Digital Wellbeing or Screen Time?

Built-in app timers show a reminder you can dismiss in a tap. Zenmo adds a deliberate pause with context—time used, opens today, and your reason—plus modes for focus and Detox, and progress measured against your own first week.

Can I still open an app if I really need to?

Yes. The pause is intentionally bypassable. You can finish the exercise, use one of your 15-minute weekly breaks, turn blocking off for 15 minutes from the notification, change permissions, or uninstall.

What happens if I want to raise a limit?

Tightening applies instantly. Raising a limit or switching an app off waits 24 hours, and moving to a looser mode waits one hour, so a change of heart is a decision and not an impulse.

Is Zenmo parental control or employee monitoring?

No. Zenmo is self-control for adults on devices they manage. It is not Families-program software, workplace surveillance, or device administration.

What leaves my phone?

Detailed usage, pause answers, and website matches stay local. Optional Circle shares only categories you approve for a connected Supporter. Analytics are off until you opt in.

Is Zenmo free? Does it use real-money stakes?

Zenmo is free, with no payments in the current release. Circle promises and Karma are payment-free, and real-money features are disabled.

Which platforms and languages are supported?

Zenmo is on Google Play for Android now. The iPhone app is built and depends on Apple's Screen Time approval; join the iPhone waitlist on this page to hear when it opens. English, Uzbek, Russian, and Korean ship in the app and on this website.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Settings → Account & profile → Delete account. Uninstalling alone does not delete a server account. See the account-deletion page for details.
