Inspiration

Enterprise teams handle large volumes of documents every day, yet much of the review and routing work is still manual. This slows down operations and increases the chance of missing important details. We were motivated by the gap between document analysis and actual decision-making, and wanted to build something that helps teams move from documents to clear next steps faster.

What it does

DocOps Copilot helps turn unstructured documents into actionable outputs. Users upload documents such as contracts, invoices, or reports, and the system classifies the document type, highlights potential risks, identifies missing information, and suggests next steps. The goal is to support human reviewers by reducing repetitive work while keeping final decisions in their control.

How we built it

We built DocOps Copilot around a document-first workflow. Uploaded files are parsed to extract relevant content, which is then evaluated to determine document type and key signals. Based on these signals, the system produces structured outputs and recommended actions. Throughout development, we focused on making the results clear, consistent, and easy to review.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main challenges was finding the right balance between automation and oversight. Fully automating document decisions can introduce risk, while too much manual work defeats the purpose. Another challenge was designing outputs that work across different document types without becoming too generic or too complex.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We’re proud of building a working system that goes beyond document summaries and focuses on decision support. The project demonstrates how document processing can directly connect to workflows, rather than leaving users to interpret results on their own.

What we learned

We learned that teams value clarity and actionability more than raw analysis. Highlighting what matters and suggesting what to do next makes document review faster and more reliable. We also learned that trust and human review are critical when working with enterprise documents.

What's next for DocOps Copilot

Next, we want to expand support for more document types and workflows, improve risk detection accuracy, and integrate more closely with existing enterprise systems. We also plan to refine the review experience to make collaboration and handoffs even smoother.
