Inspiration

We were inspired by our teammate's immense passion for food and her deficiency in her bank. Her love for discovering the city by eating through it and the lack of the technology and accessibility of food tours motivated us to create Munchy Munchy, an app where you munch through cities!

What it does

Search up a city and Munchy Munchy will create a food tour through it, taking you to the best restaurants and the best landmarks. Whether you are discovering a new city during a layover, or you're exploring your neighborhood, Munchy Munchy got your back.

Munchy Munchy plans around your budget and your available time. After generating a plan, it will also give you a map view that you can use to navigate around.

How we built it

Front end: we utilized Figma Make to lay the skeleton of the app and developed it further with more specified design direction, focusing on simple and streamlined UI. Back end: we utilized APIs such as Google Places to create the pathfinding, map feature of the app. We also built filtration system that filers the different landmarks and restaurants to fit the user's need.

Further filtration & thorough decision-making algorithms with more weights like user's preferences
Implementing real payment for users to pre-pay for meals and receive discounts
AI / TTS tour guide voice that guides users through the generated tour
Allowing user's dynamic reformation and editing of the proposed path
