WorksWell is a wellbeing-aware career guidance web application designed to help individuals find job paths that align not only with their skills, but also with their mental wellbeing, work style, and personal capacity. Traditional job platforms often prioritize degrees, years of experience, and rigid job requirements, which can unintentionally exclude people who work differently or face mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or OCD.
Our project addresses this gap by shifting the focus from resumes alone to a more human-centered, skills-based, and supportive approach to career exploration.
The Problem
Many people struggle to find and sustain employment because:
Job platforms ignore mental wellbeing and work-style differences
Poor job fit leads to stress, burnout, and disengagement
Users are overwhelmed by endless job listings with little guidance
Valuable skills are overlooked if they don’t fit traditional expectations
As a result, individuals and communities lose potential, while users are left feeling unsupported and excluded.
Our Solution
WorksWell provides a guided, calm, and personalized experience that helps users better understand themselves before exploring career options.
The platform uses an AI-driven chatbot and structured questionnaires to:
Identify user skills, strengths, and interests
Understand preferred work environments and comfort levels
Recommend job roles that align with both ability and wellbeing
Suggest supportive resources and community connections
Instead of forcing users to search endlessly, WorksWell gently guides them through self-reflection first, then presents career paths that are more sustainable and realistic for long-term growth.
How It Works
User Interaction Users interact with a chatbot that asks thoughtful, non-clinical questions about skills, preferences, and work style.
Data Interpretation Responses are processed through backend logic that balances skill matching with wellbeing considerations.
Career Recommendations The platform suggests job roles that align with both what users can do and what they are comfortable sustaining.
Ongoing Support Users are connected to curated resources, communities, and learning opportunities to support confidence, resilience, and growth.
At a conceptual level, recommendations are based on a balanced evaluation:
Career Match
Skills Alignment + Work Style Compatibility Career Match=Skills Alignment+Work Style Compatibility
This ensures that recommendations promote long-term success, not just short-term placement.
