Overview
Installing Gravity Forms follows the same process as most WordPress plugins. This guide covers installation using the WordPress dashboard and via FTP.
Note: On WordPress.com, Gravity Forms can only be installed on the Creator plan or higher. Your site must use a custom domain, and the Hello Dolly plugin must be installed before you can access /wp-admin and upload Gravity Forms.
Install Using the WordPress Dashboard
- Download the Gravity Forms plugin zip file from your Gravity Forms Account → Downloads page.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins → Add New.
- Select Upload Plugin.
- Click Choose File and select the plugin zip file, or drag it onto the file selector.
- Click Install Now, then Activate.
Gravity Forms will now appear in your WordPress admin menu.
Install Using FTP
- Download the Gravity Forms plugin zip file from your Gravity Forms Account → Downloads page.
- Unzip the downloaded file, this creates a folder named gravityforms.
- Connect to your site using an FTP client.
- Navigate to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
- Upload the entire gravityforms folder into this directory.
- In WordPress, go to Plugins and click Activate under Gravity Forms.
Gravity Forms is now installed and ready to configure.
