PAMELA REDMOND
Pamela Redmond is a novelist, playwright, essayist, entrepreneur, and impresario.
Her novel Younger was turned into a seven-season Netflix hit show by Darren Star.
She’s the creator of Nameberry, the world’s largest baby-naming website, based on her ten ground-breaking books on names. Pitching an AI service for her site, Redmond was the oldest female contestant ever on Shark Tank.
Redmond recently performed her first solo show, Old Woman Naked, with a forthcoming profile in The New York Times.
Her humor books How Not to Act Old and 30 Things Every Woman Should Have & Should Know were both New York Times bestsellers.
Redmond’s current projects include creating an LA production of Old Woman Naked, writing the final draft of her novel The Matriarch, outsmarting AI with a Nameberry app, and publishing her substack The Jubilarian, which celebrates all the ways life gets better with age.
In the year ahead, she’d love to sell the long-lost manuscript of her first novel, a torrid teen romance that goes very wrong, and expand the conversation started by her play to a community of women who get metaphorically if not literally naked.
She also fantasizes about Darren Star making a Younger spin-off series, Younger becoming a Broadway musical, Jessica Lange or Jane Fonda starring in Old Woman Naked, starting a new kind of publishing-production company, writing an episode of Hacks, giving a TED talk, and living off the grid in Europe.
