would this plugin stop a XMLRPC.php attack ?

Security-protection does not block block XMLRPC.php attacks.
If you need to block XMLRPC.php attack you can try Anti-spam plugin. It blocks trackback spam. You can read more about it in faq section.
I already have that plugin installed… however i got an XMLRPC.php brute force attack earlier today which put high load on server… so not sure if that helped?
