Your email is working. But is it secure? Most organisations assume that if email is flowing, SPF, DKIM and DMARC must be fine. That assumption is now risky. The National Cyber Security Centre has updated its email security guidance, and it’s forcing many IT teams to re-examine how much control they really have over: > SPF > DKIM > DMARC > and hosted services like Valimail Three questions worth asking: > Do you know exactly what your current DMARC policy is enforcing? > Can you clearly see who controls SPF and DKIM changes in your environment? > Are there any authorised senders you no longer recognise or use? 🔗 We’ve published a deeper walkthrough on what the updated guidance means in practice, and how to sanity-check your setup without ripping everything out. • Cloudflare going down again raises an uncomfortable question for all of us in IT... > How much reliability are we really prepared to stake on a single provider? One routine change can still take out global services, no breach, just fragile engineering. When major retailers, banks and public bodies rely on platforms that have now suffered five major outages this year, the conversation shifts from cyber defence to resilience and risk appetite. Outages aren’t “inconvenient”; they stop revenue, break user trust and expose how dependent we’ve become on rented infrastructure. Transparency after the fact is welcome but it won’t recover lost sales. The industry’s quiet acceptance of repeated failure is starting to look like a risk decision, not an operational inevitability. If you’re reassessing the balance between cost, control and resilience, our latest article breaks down the 2025 Cloudflare outages, the economics driving instability, and what you should do next. • Happy 20th Birthday ITogether 🥂 We’ve come a long way in 20 years, but did you know ITogether started in a combination of a bedroom, a garden and the pub?! It hasn’t always been positive, there have been some amazing highs, but also some tremendous lows... When ITogether has done well, it has done so through adapting, innovating and reinvention. From a small company selling networks, security, voice and storage, today we own and run our own alternative network and are proud to secure networks and applications for customers all over the world. We’re also accredited to ISO 27001. From a background of selling and supporting PCs, we’re now diving deep into leading-edge AI and Agentic Tech as a world first. None of this would have been possible without our fantastic team, customers, partners, distributors and vendors, so here’s a big thank you to everyone who has been part of our 20 year history! We're look forward to being with you for the next 20 years, wherever that may take us ITogether 🥂 Simon R. Huge thanks to everyone who joined us at our AI Cybersecurity Land Rover event yesterday. Brilliant conversations, great energy, and plenty of sharp insights. Here are our 4 key takeaways: 1 - AI-based Email Security is no Longer Optional: Attacks are evolving too quickly for static filtering. Tools with real-time AI defence – e.g Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration have become the new baseline. 2 - If you're currently relying on Proofpoint or Mimecast… it was time to reset expectations well over two years ago: SMTP gateways can’t compete against AI-generated phishing. Organisations are shifting towards prevention-led platforms that inspect behaviour, intent, and user context not just across SMTP. 3 - AI vs AI is the Security Story of 2025: Threat actors are automating everything from lure creation to payload delivery using AI. Defensive AI must match that pace. The numbers and case studies we saw yesterday made that very clear.  4 - Controlling how AI is used inside your Organisation is Critical: Generative AI tools create new data leakage risks. Clear policies and strong data loss prevention (DLP) controls are essential to stay ahead. Thanks again to everyone who came along, such a fantastic venue, great discussions, and great to see so many leaders preparing for what’s next... Special shout-out to Gethin Jones Check Point Software Point for bringing real-world clarity to a fast-moving topic, as well as Mike Hudson for sharing his industry case study and for giving us clear, practical insights into how the tech works in practice. If you’d like to continue the conversation, just drop us a message. And if you’d like to join us for our next Cybersecurity Land Rover Experience, registrations are now open for our March 2026 event, link in comments 👇

  • Really pleased you enjoyed the day Glyn. We really enjoyed having you and everyone that came today. Looking forward to the next one in March 2026.

THIS IS WHY I LOVE MY JOB.... A cybersecurity conference incorporating an off-road Land Rover driving experience. WOW! I wish everyone's data systems were as secure as the handling of these cars. Thanks to Simon R. of ITogether for the opportunity and the knowledge sharing #madesmarteryorkshireandhumber #rtcnorth #cybersecurity PS I appreciate the irony of juxtaposing cybersecurity and Land Rovers.....😉
