Develop Build Deploy

It's what I do.

Right now, I'm finishing my Bachelor's degree. Building things that interest me as I go.

About Me

B.Sc. In progress
2+ Years in industry

My relationship with technology started long before I wrote a line of code. I took an interest in programming in high school. But, wasn't serious about it until after my first class at community college, then YouTube, channels like Traversy Media and Academind, until it stuck. I'm most at home building things people actually use, getting into the infrastructure underneath them, and picking up new tools whenever something interesting crosses my path.

Some of the most valuable lines of code I've experienced were ones I never thought about—iOS on my first iPod, the ones keeping YouTube running through countless hours of watching everything from tutorials to nonsense. Written by people I'll never meet, they shaped more of who I am than I realized at the time. That's still true today—the ones on my Linux installation that let me tinker with my development environment, and the ones Strava's engineering team wrote that gave me an outlet through fitness and introduced me to some of the best people in my life. That's the bar I aim to hold myself to.

Based in Denver, I spend my free time running, cycling, and hunting down good coffee shops neighborhood by neighborhood. I think the way I work and the way I move through the world are the same thing: figure out how it works, put in the miles, and stay curious.
