Your notes are plain files

Notes live as markdown files in a vault folder on your disk. No database, no lock-in — sync them with git, iCloud, or anything else.

Open your Obsidian vault directly. Wikilinks, embeds, transclusion, callouts and attachments work out of the box — without rewriting your notes.

Obsidian compatibility

Execute JavaScript, Node.js and shell blocks in place. Results are saved into the markdown itself, readable from any editor.

Running code

Summon the AI overlay on any note, use / commands like /brainstorm or /rewrite, and create your own prompts as plain markdown files.

AI assistant

Connect GitHub, Postgres, Slack or your filesystem to AI blocks with tools=. Same config format as Claude Desktop, servers run locally.

MCP servers

The companion plugin adds "Open in Znote" and Run buttons inside Obsidian — run a block, and the result appears back in your Obsidian note.

Companion plugin

Plotly, Danfo.js, Mermaid and ApexCharts are pre-installed. Charts can be snapshotted right into the note as images.
