GitPub is a git based publication making tool that uses web to print technology.

GitPub is a collaborative web to print tool.

It is based on the git version control software,

commonly used by programmers to

collectively work on and publish code files.

GitPub taps into the social dynamics of git:

asynchronous, diverging, yet structured workflows where conflict and merging

require shared responsibility and decision making.

Git captures and coordinates these processes through metadata.

Using GitPub allows to modify and version shared text files

which, together with the files metadata, can be previewed and printed as a pdf.

Thereby rendering not only content but collective work and dynamics visible.

GitPub creates a collaborative publication making environment

that bridges between git culture and artistic practices.

GitPub is written in the python programming language.

You can install GitPub and compile a pdf

using your computer terminal.

Your project files can be edited in your preferred environment:

a local text editor, the terminal or a git platforms interface.
