"Best event I went to all conference.” I heard a version of this from everyone who came to our Agentic Payments Dinner at Money20/20 Europe. When the whole industry is competing for your time, that’s the highest praise we can hope to get. Two weeks ago in Amsterdam, Nevermined and VGS broke bread with a group of likeminded new friends. Around one table sat those from NVIDIA, Thoughtworks, Catena Labs, Reach, Ovra, Bending Spoons, Mesh, SolvaPay and Capco. Breaking bread and chatting Agents and Agentic Payments. Intimate conversations and side quests. All of us building the agent economy from very different angles. It was a few hours of the kind of conversation you really can’t schedule a meeting for. A special thanks to everyone at the table:  - Pahal Patangia and - Dr. Jochen Papenbrock   - Giacomo Rebecchi  - Viggo Stenseth  - Alla Gancz  - Martin Henke  - Matt Venables  - Rani E. Nagpal  - Deepak Malhotra  - Tim Jamboula  - Robin Doble  - Austin Clark and Damijan Pezdiček    For the curious, some of the things we actually talked about:  - How agents will reimagine procurement, with businesses buying through agents instead of portals and purchase orders.  - Why the AI control plane becomes central to ROI, because you cannot capture the value of agents without governing what they can do and spend.  - How agents will scale GDP once software can transact and not just recommend. - How to actually pronounce Catena...thanks for clearing that up Matt. ;) By design, there were no panels. There were no pitches. Just people early to the same idea, comparing notes on where we are and where it goes. That was the whole point. I would be remiss to not send out a huge thank you to our co-hosts at VGS, especially Damijan Pezdiček. The agent economy is being built in rooms like this, by people willing to have the conversation before the market catches up. Let's do it again. If you were there, drop your favorite moment of the night below.

🇳🇱 Last week at Money20/20 Europe in Amsterdam, VGS had the opportunity to join some of the brightest minds in fintech, payments, AI, and digital infrastructure to discuss what comes next for agentic commerce. 🤝 Together with Nevermined, we hosted an intimate dinner to discuss agentic commerce and payments, bringing together founders, investors, and infrastructure leaders for an open conversation about the future of machine-to-machine transactions. Some standout discussions included:  🤖 AI agents are moving from assistants to executing transactions on behalf of users and businesses. As a result, payment infrastructure must evolve to support autonomy without sacrificing trust. 🛡️ Controls matter as much as capability. Spend controls, dynamic authorization policies, and governance frameworks emerged as critical building blocks for safe agent-driven commerce. 🔐 Tokenization is foundational for payment acceptance. Merchants continue to converge around tokenization as a key enabler of secure payment experiences, helping organizations reduce PCI scope while increasing flexibility and resilience. 🙏 Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to the discussion. The excitement around AI is undeniable, but the conversations in Amsterdam made one thing clear: the real opportunity lies in building the trusted infrastructure that enables autonomous commerce to scale #Money2020 #Money2020Europe #Payments #Fintech #AgenticCommerce #AgenticPayments #VGS #Nevermined

When we backed Donald Gossen and his team at Nevermined, agentic payments were far from consensus. Today that conviction speaks for itself. Nevermined, an agentic payments infrastructure company enabling machines to transact autonomously at scale, is named among the select partners trusted by Mastercard to validate and build this next chapter of financial innovation alongside Stripe, Cloudflare, Anchorage Digital, BVNK and others. Early conviction. Exceptional founders. Category-defining outcomes. This is what we invest in. Thrilled to see how the future of internet is being built. More to come!

Mastercard just launched Agent Pay for Machines. It’s new payments infrastructure built specifically for AI agents to transact with each other, autonomously, at machine speed. And Nevermined is part of it. Why now? 39% of US consumers already use generative AI for online shopping. Agentic AI is expected to handle up to 20% of e-commerce tasks this year alone. The shift is not coming. It is here (Mastercard). AI agents are already doing real work. Writing code. Managing logistics. Running research. The next step is letting them pay for the services they need to complete that work, without a human approving every single transaction.  That requires more than fast payments. It requires autonomous transactions. Payments don’t just increase for agents, they change form, and it requires agents that can reason about value, negotiate terms, and transact with trust at scale. That's exactly what Nevermined has been building from the very beginning. We have been at the forefront of agentic payments since before it had a name. Bringing credit card payments into the agent economy, making it possible for agents to pay and get paid using the same rails billions of people and businesses use every day. Today verifies the approach. Nevermined joins 30+ industry leaders, including Stripe, Cloudflare, Lovable, Anchorage Digital, BVNK and Coinbase, in the Agent Pay for Machines ecosystem. Our role is building the Commerce Logic Layer, the intelligence layer that sits above the payment rail. It allows an AI agent to decide what to buy or when to sell, to verify the counterparty, to negotiate terms, and to execute within defined rules, without a human in the loop. Transactions move predictably, improving transparency and consistency. That is not a small thing. It is the foundation of trust in a world where machines are economic actors. The agent economy is not a prediction. It is being wired right now, rail by rail, protocol by protocol. The companies laying that foundation today will define how value moves for the next decade. Proud to be in the room where it's happening. Nevermined has been here from the start. And we are just getting started. More below.

As AI agents begin to act, payments are increasingly executed in the background – at machine speed and massive scale.     Today, we’re introducing Mastercard Agent Pay for Machines – built for this shift, bringing structure, governance, and trust to this new class of payments. Instead of managing transactions, businesses can define how payments happen: who can transact, what they’re authorized to do, and how value moves across ecosystems.   We’re bringing this to life with more than 30 partners across payments, fintech, cloud, and digital assets – because a new system of commerce only works if it’s built as an ecosystem from day one.     The result? A new operating model for commerce — continuous, embedded, and governed by design.     👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eAYRjFaB

  • Agents can search. Agents can plan. Now agents can pay. We're co-hosting an evening with Exa, Coinbase, and Visa on the payment stack for the agentic web, and it's already live. Nevermined and Exa just closed the loop: an agent can buy Exa Search API calls autonomously, no human in the middle, no API key handoff, just cardholder-defined guardrails. Hear from the people building it: Coinbase, Visa, Exa, and Nevermined The panel will be followed by a demo and networking. If you're a dev using a harness and to give your agents spending power or a merchant looking to sell to agents, this is for you. RSVP https://luma.com/ktmwwf72

Twelve months ago, agentic commerce was a thesis. Today, every major payment network is live. Visa Intelligent Commerce. PayPal Agentic Checkout. Mastercard Agent Pay. Stripe Link for Agents. All shipped in the last two quarters. Now the first wave of agentic merchants, like Exa, are using Nevermined to enable AI agents to autonomously buy their AI services using a delegated credit cards, no human in the loop. The standards layer is done. The commerce layer above the rails is the next surface. That's the conversation we're hosting at Money20/20 Europe in two weeks. Nevermined + VGS are co-hosting a private dinner for the founders, operators, investors and institutions actually shipping in this category. Join me, Robin Doble, Damijan Pezdiček and Austin Clark for deep conversations and insights into the new merchant and consumer class. Curated guest list. Concrete proof points. No hand-waving. The AI Agents market is projected to grow from $7.84 billion in 2025 to $52.62 billion by 2030, registering a 46.3% CAGR. We're partnered with Visa and integrated with x402 to unlock the agent economy and its potential. Boston Consulting Group (BCG) projects that the agentic commerce market could grow at an average annual rate of about 45% from 2024 to 2030. The numbers are consistent. The trajectory is clear. But most organizations are focused on consumer-facing shopping agents. The larger opportunity is infrastructure. Before AI agents can book your flight or reorder paper towels, they need to pay for the APIs, data feeds, and compute that power those actions. That's the invisible layer, and it's where real volume will flow. The payment friction that x402 addresses shows up wherever AI agents need to access third-party data or services as part of an automated workflow AWS. In capital markets, trading agents need real-time data feeds. In lending, decisioning agents pull bureau data and income verification. In logistics, autonomous systems negotiate with vendors. All of this requires payments infrastructure that doesn't exist in traditional rails. Nevermined is building that layer: programmable payment rails that enable AI agents to transact autonomously while maintaining security, compliance, and auditability. Galaxy estimates that agentic commerce could represent $3–5 trillion in B2C revenue by 2030. But the nearer opportunity is the software-to-software transaction layer. This is where infrastructure stops being theoretical and becomes essential. Are you building for the next wave, or waiting for it to arrive? Let’s chat if you want to accept AI agents as customers.

  • ⚡ Today marks a shift in how AI agents access the internet. We're announcing our partnership with Exa to enable autonomous agent-to-service payments. Agents can now discover, evaluate, purchase, and use real-time web search with a credit card. Exa is building search infrastructure for AI agents. They index millions of high-quality articles and data points, power AI search for Cursor, Notion, and hundreds of companies building agent-first applications. Their infrastructure is designed for agents to navigate the internet the way humans do, but faster, smarter, and at scale. Higher quality results for over 90% fewer tokens, significantly reducing costs. Until now, agents couldn't browse the web this way without a human buying access first. What changed: Exa now accepts delegated credit cards. Your agent can discover Exa's Search API, purchase access within spending limits you control, receive an API key instantly, and start searching using that API. Exa has been forward looking from day one and is doing so yet again, now allowing agents to operate as autonomous actors on the internet at scale. The workflow: Agent needs real-time web data → Discovers Exa supports autonomous payments and evaluates pricing → Purchases access with delegated card → Receives API key → Searches the internet instantly via the newly acquired API   Zero pauses. Zero manual provisioning. Full autonomy within your guardrails. Why this matters: For the first time, agents aren't just tools we operate, they're autonomous actors that can discover and purchase the infrastructure they need to complete the work we've assigned them. Exa's search gives agents access to the open web at a scale and speed no human could match. Now they can buy that access themselves. This is how the internet becomes accessible to a new type of user. This is how the agentic internet and agentic economy take off. Excited to onboard Exa, who are joining a new class of merchants - those who receive compliant payment from a customer class that didn't exist before. Live in production. Details below.

  • Let's get you new customers. Easy 5 minute sign up at Nevermined. More: https://lnkd.in/eCbPysfd

Start getting revenue from a new customer class. Most API businesses rely on two models: 1. Freemium → hope users convert 2. Enterprise → long sales cycles, high friction Now there’s a third: Agents that pay you automatically, per use. AI agents need real-time data, compute, and specialized APIs. But their users don’t want to manage 15 subscriptions. So a new pattern is emerging: → Agent builders integrate your API → Their agents call and pay for your service when needed → You get net new revenue from agent-driven traffic → No humans, no contracts, no subscription overhead At Nevermined, this is exactly what we’re enabling: Payment rails for machine-to-machine transactions, so agents can buy your APIs autonomously, and you keep full control and visibility. If you’re an API provider, data platform, or tooling company, agents are your next distribution channel. The teams building for this now will define the market. Are you ready to sell to AI agents?
