DISAPPOINTING UPDATE:
Since v3.0, this once-perfect app has been getting worse and worse. Options have been removed, then some added back in but in a hidden and convoluted way, compression has gotten worse (one “compressed” PDF came out *bigger* than the original). I’ve reverted to v2.7 from my Time Machine. I’ll keep this app on my drive just to see if it improves with updates, but as of 2020-11, it’s very much headed in the wrong direction for an app that’s gone from free to $23.

Just got done testing several PDF squeezers — this one’s the clear winner. When I’m looking for a new app, I get obsessed with finding the best one for me. I download any I can find that look like they might fit the bill, then I put them through the paces. After testing half a dozen PDF squeezers against each other (color-scaned PDFs, text-scanned PDFs, downloaded user manuals, etc.), PDFify performed best on *almost every test*. It consistently produced the best quality with the smallest file size. I settled on 300dpi/low quality as the best setting (“low quality” is a misnomer — the PDFs looked great), but there are 7 other options). The fact that it also had the clearest, friendliest UI is a nice bonus, as is the OCR functionality, which I’ve only played with a little, but it seems to do a great job of that too. And it can read text aloud, and scan — which I’ll probably start using so I can immediately squeeze the PDFs I create. There are a *lot* of paid apps (some quite expensive) with similar functionality that don’t stand up to this free one. Really glad I found it.

Impressionnant, non seulement il extrait le texte mais il respecte la mise en forme du pdf original.
Very impressive. PDFify extract text from PDF and retain the original page layout.

Great app with amazing features , many companies make it paid but pdfiy is free and high quality app with convenience results . Thank you for the developers and keep going .
