Notes on the design of Michaux
This text explores the origins of Michaux as both a typeface and an attempt to approach writing through mystery rather than control. Drawing from Henri Michaux’s experiments with signs, asemic writing, and altered perception, the project treats letters as unstable forms suspended between abstraction and legibility. Built through generative processes and subjective selection, Michaux embraces fragility, inconsistency, and ambiguity.
