Things is a task management solution that helps to organize your tasks in an elegant and intuitive way. Things combines powerful features with simplicity through the use of tags and its intelligent filter bar.

- Collect Your Thoughts - Get things off your mind quickly: no matter what app you’re in, a keyboard shortcut instantly reveals Quick Entry. Type your thoughts and save them to the Inbox. Or just talk to Siri on any device ("Remind me to...") and import from Reminders.
- Get Organized - Create a project for each of your goals, then add the steps to reach them. For clarity, add structure with headings. Then group your projects by areas of responsibility, such as "Family", "Work", or "Health". Review these regularly to stay on top of things.
- Plan Your Time - See your calendar events alongside your to-dos and plan your time effectively. Create repeating to-dos for things you do every few days, weeks, or months - Things will remind you on the right day.
- Make the Most of Your Day - Every morning, grab a coffee and prepare your list for "Today": review previously planned to-dos and make quick decisions on what to tackle. Pick some more steps from your projects and then get going. The Today list is the only place you’ll need to look for the rest of the day.
- Customize Your Workflow - Use tags to categorize your to-dos or add context. For example, tag places like "Office" or "Home", or tag all your "Errands", or everything you’re working on with "Kate". You can easily find everything you’ve tagged via filtering or search.

Fresh look & feel
- Things’ interface has been completely refreshed in every corner. You’ll notice a touch of glass in the sidebar that lets a hint of color shine through; increased rounding of corners for windows, dialogs, and to-dos.
- Things’ icon has been refined and realigned to sit beautifully within macOS 26. It’s familiar at a glance – and unmistakably Things.
- Icon & widget styles: Things’ app icon and widgets now support styles on Mac. To change your style, go to System Settings > Appearance and choose from Dark, Tinted, or Clear.
Quick controls
- Things’ handy control buttons are now available on Mac. Open Control Center from the menu bar and click Edit Controls. Things offers controls for New To-Do and List (you choose a list). You can place them in Control Center, or directly in your menu bar for one-click access.

- Spotlight can now create to-dos. After you’ve invoked Spotlight (⌘ Space), type “Create To-Do”, press Return, then enter your title. Your new to-do is created in the Inbox – even if Things isn’t running.
- Things’ Quick Entry feature now supports adding links from the new Comet browser.
Things is ready for macOS 26 Tahoe, with a new app icon, an entirely refreshed interface, control buttons, support for new widget styles, and more.

From what I understand, they changed the database format once again in v3.13.1 without any option to import your former database! :-o At least, when they switched from v2 to v3 there has been this feature. I've searched every possible support page, no way! You can import from a number of other software but not their own! Am I missing something?

Things is delightful. It has made me productive by making entering, scheduling, and completing my todo's an absolute joy. Highly recommended.

Although the price is stiff, it looks like it'll help me to organize my day a lot. For now, I am satisfied with its work, the interface might be better, but it is not a selling point for me.
