Do I need an Instagram API key to use UnlockDM?

No keys to manage. UnlockDM connects through Instagram's official Graph API, approved by Meta via App Review. You sign in with Instagram's secure login — we never see your password — and everything runs within Meta's official terms.

Can UnlockDM get my Instagram account banned?

No tool can promise zero risk, but UnlockDM is built to minimize it. It runs on the official Meta API, only messages people who comment first, and paces every DM through a queue to stay under Instagram's limits. That avoids the burst-after-a-viral-post pattern that gets most automation accounts flagged.

How does the follow verification work?

When a fan taps "Unlock," UnlockDM checks in real time whether they're following your account. If they're not following, the unlock is blocked and they're prompted to follow first. There's no way to bypass this check.

What counts as a "verified referral"?

A referral is verified when the referred person comments the keyword on your post, follows your account, and unlocks the free reward using the referrer's link. All three steps must be completed. Fake accounts and self referrals are flagged automatically.

Can I run more than one campaign at a time?

Yes. During beta, you can run multiple campaigns and give each one its own keyword, free reward, bonus threshold, and referral code structure.

What types of rewards can I deliver?

You can deliver any digital reward via a link — PDF downloads, Google Drive files, Gumroad products, Notion pages, course links, promo codes, or any URL. UnlockDM sends the link automatically in the DM once a fan unlocks.

How does fraud detection work?

UnlockDM automatically flags suspicious activity like accounts created very recently, multiple unlocks from the same IP, accounts with no posts or followers, and people trying to refer themselves. Flagged referrals go into a review queue so you can approve or reject them.

Is there a limit on how many comments or unlocks I can get?

We are keeping beta access open while we learn with early creators. If a campaign spikes beyond normal launch volume, we will reach out before making any changes to delivery.

Can I use UnlockDM for a giveaway?

Absolutely. You can use the Winner Picker feature to randomly select a verified participant from your campaign. Winners are chosen from accounts that have fully unlocked (followed + completed referral requirements), ensuring only real, engaged followers win.
