Announcing webrtcforthecurious.com - Go beyond the APIs.
A WebRTC book that teaches how all the protocols work in depth, not just a tour of the APIs
Get the full details of ICE, SCTP, DTLS, SRTP, and how they work together
OpenAI/@juberti has upstreamed and done a bunch of fantastic work on Pion. I really appreciate it!
* Multiple bug fixes across multiple repos (ICE/WebRTC)
* Opus work
So grateful for talking about Pion usage also. It gets people excited to contribute/motivates existing people.
One other WebRTC thing we did for GPT-Live: we worked with @_pion to build a production-quality Opus decoder in Go, and are now using it in our systems. It supports the full Opus bitstream, has performance close to the C version, and is much more secure!

QUIC as Multiplexing Layer in WebRTC - dl.acm.org/doi/epdf/10.11…
Written by @MathisEngelbart a core author of Pion!
Have Media + DataChannel not be in contention, send file but be media aware
Pretty magical if all WebRTC traffic could get 'QUIC Upgrade' without users noticing!
Great opportunity to talk with someone directly building great webrtc services
Cloudflare exposes webrtc primitives (WHIP and TURN) and contributes to Pion, fantastic group of people
hi everyone! I'm a PM intern on RealtimeKit at @Cloudflare, the SDK for adding live video, voice, and chat to any web or mobile app without building WebRTC yourself.
Using it, want to learn more, or have feedback? Would love to chat, DMS are open or book time with me below 🫡
This uses lemonslice.com and LiveKit so probably uses Pion (or maybe it uses a different transport not sure?)
I love this AI roleplaying stuff. Families will go through, and maybe some kids will get curious in tech/history.
Way cooler then productivity tools!
