In #OracleSolaris, the global /var/adm/spellhist file was removed in Solaris 11.0 & S10U10 - replaced by per-user history in $HOME/.spellhist (unless $H_SPELL is set to save it somewhere else).
Learned recently that spell(1) on classic Unix used to maintain a history file of misspelled words, who misspelled them, and when it was run so the admin could add correct-spellings to the system dictionary. It endures (opt-in) in OpenBSD's version.
