- The Best of Baltimore Grant, a UMBC initiative started in '25, is changing how students from Baltimore City imagine college: not as a distant possibility overshadowed by debt, but as a tangible, financially supported path forward & right in their backyard.
- This summer, four UMBC students are getting hands-on experience contributing to efforts to rebuild the Francis Scott Key Bridge over the Patapsco River, which collapsed in March 2024 after a cargo ship collided with one of its supports.
- Performing well in their first two competitions in May and June, UMBC's Baja SAE racing team is speeding toward their final competition of the year in late September in Nashport, Ohio.
