Add WordPress post comments with WS Form and map form fields to comment fields.

How to Create Comments from Forms in WordPress

Turn form submissions into WordPress post comments

Use the Comment Management premium integration to add comments to posts from a WS Form. This helps visitors leave feedback, ask questions, or share their thoughts directly on your WordPress content.

You can create a comment form automatically from the available sample form templates, or add the Comment Management action to an existing form. Forms that use this action should be added to pages that contain a post, such as a blog article.

The action supports field mapping so you can connect your form fields to WordPress comment fields. You can also choose whether the action runs when the form is saved, submitted, or both, and set comments to Approved or Pending.

  • Post ID: Leave it blank to use the post ID of the page the form is on, or enter a specific post ID.
  • Meta: Add comment meta mappings with a meta key and value.
  • Type: Optionally enter a comment type, or leave it blank for normal post comments.
  • Map comment fields

Connect your form fields to the corresponding WordPress comment fields using field mapping.

  • Control approval status

Set new comments to Approved for immediate display or Pending for moderation.

  • Use comment metadata

Add meta mappings to store additional structured data with each comment.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I integrate WordPress with WordPress Comments using WS Form?

Install the Comment Management add-on, then either create a form from a Comment Management template or add the Comment Management action to an existing form. For full setup steps, see Comment Management.

Can I create a comment form automatically?

Yes. You can create a Comment Management form by adding a new form, selecting the Comment Management tab, and choosing a form template.

Can I use an existing form for comments?

Yes. You can use any form created in WS Form and add the Comment Management action so the submission is added as a post comment.

What happens if Post ID is left blank?

If Post ID is left blank, the form uses the post ID of the page it is on.

Are Name and Email mappings always required?

No. At minimum, you should map the Comment field. If a user is logged in, Name and Email mappings are not required because WS Form sets them to the currently logged in user.

Can comments be moderated before they appear?

Yes. If Approved is not checked, new comments are set to Pending and need to be moderated before they are shown on your website.

Can I store comment meta values?

Yes. You can add meta mappings by entering a Meta Key and Meta Value. WS Form variables can be used in this setting.
