What Makes Hyvector Different

Browser-Based & Lightweight

Work directly in your browser, with nothing to install. Hyvector starts fast, stays light on memory, and runs well even on modest hardware. And because all processing happens locally, your files never leave your device.

Browser-based features

Advanced Typography

Type text in any script and it renders correctly. Hyvector handles complex shaping and full bidirectional text, so Nastaliq, Adlam, and Devanagari come out the way they should. Convert to outlines and that shaping stays intact.

Professional Tools

Hyvector keeps a focused toolset: selection and node editing, a bézier pen, paint brush and pencil, and parametric shapes. Paths can be scaled, rotated, and skewed with precision, and a drag-and-drop element tree keeps your structure organized. Nothing extra, but nothing missing.

About the Project

Jan Bösenberg illustration

I started Hyvector because I wanted a browser-based SVG editor that actually worked the way I wanted it to. What I thought would be a quick side project turned into a five-year deep dive into just how complicated vector graphics really are.

The good news is the core foundation is finally done. Being a solo dev means things take a bit longer, but it also means there is no corporate bloat and every feature gets a ton of thought before it gets added. Now that the core engine is stable, I'm rolling out the next wave of features, including global colors, dynamic stroke widths, variable fonts, and plenty more.
