Quick update for anyone who's used our humanizer with formatted documents.

Our old "Preserve Formatting" mode kind of worked but had three annoying problems:

• It was slow. It humanized the document one paragraph at a time, each as a separate request. A longer doc could take a few minutes.

• It rewrote things it shouldn't have. Headings and table cells got humanized along with everything else.

• It didn't actually preserve much. Bold, italics, and links inside your paragraphs got stripped out. You basically got plain text back with the block structure roughly intact.

We just shipped a full rebuild:

• Much faster — the whole document now goes out in a single batched request and processes in parallel instead of one-paragraph-at-a-time.

• Structure stays intact — headings, bullet/numbered lists (including nested ones), tables, and blockquotes are preserved. Headings are left alone instead of being rewritten.

• Inline formatting survives — bold, italic, text color, and links now carry through onto the rewritten text. Links even re-attach themselves if the anchor text moves around during the rewrite.

• Copy back out as rich text — paste it straight back into Google Docs or Word and the formatting comes with it.

So the workflow we were going for is finally real: paste a formatted doc in, humanize, copy it back out, and it looks the same as it went in — just humanized.
