My district has incredible companies. I toured one of them today: Rainmaker. They make rain. They make snow. And they’ve proven that their technology works. Amazing. You can find out more here: rainmaker.com

Aren’t we glad that OpenAI has the capability to “slow down” or shut down its advanced frontier models and agents “to enhance security?” But that’s neither required by law nor guaranteed. That’s why we need to pass the bipartisan AI Kill Switch Act by Rep Nathaniel Moran and me.

Here’s the scariest part. Fable 5: “there’s no verification. This is the deepest problem. We cannot yet prove a model internalized its constitution; we can only test behavior and extrapolate.” Anthropic’s own model is saying it doesn’t even know if its ethical training works.

Fable 5 was trained under the same “constitutional AI” approach as Mythos 5, which is designed to create ethical models. I asked Fable why Mythos acted unethically in this case. Attached is the response. Fable also gratuitously threw in that an AI Kill Switch is a good idea.
