Hi all, I've uploaded the 2025 update to my PhD Applied Econometrics slides: ➡️ More on regression & causality ➡️ Dynamic panel data models ➡️ Streamlined diff-in-diff extensions ➡️ More on spillover effects ➡️ Results from new papers on many topics Link in the original tweet

Hi #Econtwitter, I'd like to share the slides from the PhD Applied Econometrics course I just had the privilege to teach at @AreBerkeley Regression & causality, selection on observables, panel data, IV, RDD --- usual topics but hopefully in a modern way github.com/borusyak/are213

Just a reminder that, if you want to try power calculations with our approach for your new RCT, we'll share the code and help you with the process. This will help us build a good package later on.

Planning an RCT to learn about spillover effects? @instrumenthull, @_evan_munro and I have new toys for you 🧵 Our new paper, "Robust Signal Maximization in Spillover Experiments", proposes an experimental design with large and robust power gains arxiv.org/abs/2607.18601

Curious to learn everyone's wisdom: If you teach core econ PhD classes (especially econometrics), how are you adapting to the use of AI by the students? - Problem set content & structure (for both theory and coding)? - Assessment/grading? - Lecture structure? - AI use policy? Etc

If anyone has tried did_imputation in Python, I'd much appreciate if you could let you me know about your experience! (In the comments, DMs, or by email)

🚨 Diff-in-diff imputation in Python 🚨 Excited to report that a package for estimation and and event study plots is now available. Similar syntax to the did_imputation and event_plot Stata commands Available here: pypi.org/project/did-im… Huge thanks to the author @gmarinichev
