Last reviewed on November 18, 2025

You can add a custom email address to your domain name to look professional and strengthen your brand. In this guide, you will learn how to create a new email address with your domain name.

Create an email address

A custom email address uses your domain name after the @ symbol. For example, if your domain is yourgroovydomain.com, you can create email addresses like [email protected] and [email protected].

To create a custom email address, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure you have a domain name either registered or connected to WordPress.com.
  2. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  3. Navigate to Upgrades → Emails (or Hosting → Emails if using WP Admin).
An arrow from the "Upgrades" menu to the emails submenu.

💡

If you don’t see the Emails option in your site’s dashboard, you can visit our Site Profiler to make sure your domain is hosted with WordPress.com.

Select an email provider

Email is not included with your WordPress.com plan, but you can purchase affordable Professional Email or purchase a suite of Google Apps (including Gmail) with Google Workspace. Visit the Emails page to view pricing in your currency.

You can use any email provider with your domain. Consider one of these popular email options:

📌

Only one email provider can be active on your domain at a time. Multiple email services on the same domain will not work.
