The Nextcloud Community Conference is only possible because of the contributions from the community, so we want to say thank you to everyone who shared their ideas with us! Our goal is to create a diverse program that reflects the diversity of the Nextcloud ecosystem and the wider open source community.

Nextcloud Include
Travel support and diversity at #NextcloudConf26
Diversity strengthens a community, and the Nextcloud Include initiative is our way of helping underrepresented groups get involved in the Nextcloud project. We’re committed to creating an inclusive space where everyone can collaborate and contribute to building world-class open source software.
To support this goal, we offer travel support for the Nextcloud Community Conference, Contributor Week, and other events where volunteer help is needed. Our program covers 80% of travel and hotel expenses in exchange for your support during the event.
Please note: due to limited resources, travel support is only available to a select number of community members. Before applying, consider whether you truly need assistance, as support granted to you may limit help available to someone in greater need.

Nextcloud Contributor Week
With the Nextcloud Community Conference, we are bringing together contributors, fans, and first-time attendees for two days of talks, workshops, and sharing experiences on 19 and 20 September in Berlin, Germany.
But the event doesn’t stop there! We will continue our ventures during the Nextcloud Contributor Week from 21 to 25 September with our famous “development sprints”. This is your opportunity to collaborate in person with others Nextcloud members during focused working sessions. From coding to translating or writing documentation, all skill levels come together in this community-driven week to build, improve, and collaborate on Nextcloud improvements in design, functionality, stability, performance and features. It is a unique opportunity for developers to dive deep into the codebase, exchange ideas, and work closely with other Nextclouders.
The atmosphere is vibrant and collaborative, fostering an environment of learning, growth, and innovation. By the end of the week, participants not only have gained invaluable experience but also made significant contributions to the Nextcloud project, helping to shape its future.
Contributor Week at the Nextcloud Community Conference is a celebration of open source collaboration, fostering a strong sense of community and collective effort.
We share code, thoughts, inspiration, beer and knowledge, working in areas like:

Event location
The innovative CIC Berlin
Get ready to join us at the dynamic coworking hub CIC Berlin. Conveniently located between the vibrant districts of Alt-Treptow and Kreuzberg, CIC Berlin is accessible and easy to reach.
- Arriving by public transit? The closest options are the U-Bahn station Schlesisches Tor (U1, U3), around a 10-minute walk, and the S-Bahn station Treptower Park (S8, S9), around 15 minutes away.
- Arriving by car? Limited street parking is available nearby, but we recommend public transport where possible.
- Arriving by bike? Bike storage is available close to the venue.
Kids’ Program
For the first time, we’re introducing a Kids’ Program to make the conference more welcoming for families.
On both Saturday and Sunday, children can join a short hands-on workshop exploring coding, Nextcloud, and open source. Throughout the day, a dedicated family space will also offer board games, puzzles, drawing, and other activities.
This is a shared family space rather than a full-day children’s program.
Parents remain responsible for supervising their children at all times.

To stay true to these and help us plan better, this year’s Nextcloud Community Conference includes a small 10€ registration fee. It helps us reduce waste, prepare responsibly, and ensure a great experience for everyone who truly plans to join. As a thank-you, you’ll receive an exclusive Nextcloud tote bag or a Nextcloud T-shirt at check-in. We want the event to stay open and accessible, so if the fee is a barrier, you can always request a waiver, no questions asked.

Frequently asked questions
The event has a small registration fee of €10. This helps us reduce no-shows and improve planning while keeping the event accessible to everyone. Your registration also includes either a Nextcloud T-shirt or an exclusive 10th-anniversary tote bag.
The event is open to developers, contributors, IT professionals, partners, students, open source enthusiasts, and anyone interested in digital sovereignty and the Nextcloud ecosystem. Whether you’re a long-time community member or joining us for the first time, you’re welcome.
Your registration includes access to all event sessions and workshops, networking opportunities, coffee breaks, lunch, community activities, and either a Nextcloud T-shirt or an exclusive 10th-anniversary tote bag.
Contributor Week takes place immediately after the Community Conference and is dedicated to collaborating on Nextcloud projects. Community members work together on coding, documentation, translations, design, quality assurance, marketing, and many other areas that help move the project forward.
Not at all. While developers are an important part of Contributor Week, there are many ways to contribute. Whether your skills are in documentation, design, translations, testing, marketing, or community building, there’s a place for you.
Simply submit your proposal through our Call for Papers before the submission deadline (August 3, 2026). We welcome both experienced speakers and first-time presenters, and we’re looking for practical talks, technical deep dives, workshops, and community stories related to Nextcloud, open source, and digital sovereignty.
Once the Call for Papers closes, all submissions are reviewed by the Nextcloud team. We evaluate proposals based on their relevance, quality, and how they fit into the overall program. We’ll notify all applicants by email once the review process is complete, whether or not their proposal has been selected.
Yes. All accepted speakers receive complimentary access to the conference. If you require travel support, please get in touch with us, and we’ll do our best to help where possible.
Yes. Through the Nextcloud Include initiative, we offer travel support to help make the Community Conference and Contributor Week more accessible. The program covers 80% of travel and hotel expenses in exchange for volunteer support during the event.
As travel support is available to a limited number of community members, we encourage you to apply only if you require financial assistance to attend. If you do, simply complete the Travel Support Application on this page, and we’ll review your request.
