Dr. Truth is a Licensed Eligible Psychologist and owner of a private practice located in Atlanta, Georgia. She hails from Chicago, Illinois. She has 20+ years experience providing mental health therapy in community mental health clinics, psychiatric hospitals and private practices. Dr. Truth is a former Professor of NeuroPsychology & Child/Adolescent Psychology, a 5-time book author (Shift: 20 Women Share Stories of Strength, Courage and Succeeding Against the Odds; Grace:35 Women Share Letters of Reflection to the Little Girl or Young Woman They Once Were; Aging Fiercely; Gratitude Planner & Calendar and Black Girls Cry: 10 Strategies to Cope with Grief of a Close Loved One), and the creator of Healing Grief Baskets & Let's Talk About Grief healing workshops, which have assisted 100's of people in their grief, healing and forgiveness journey. After the death of a close loved one, Dr. Truth never imagined she would become known as "The Grief Doctor"; until after the death of her aunt, whom she shares about in her book, Black Girls Cry. Dr. Truth provides a safe space for clients ages 3-100 to heal by exploring new ways of thinking, feeling and behaving through culturally-affirming, solution-focused mental health therapy services. She motivates clients to become the best version of themselves and to break long-standing generational patterns of trauma, poverty-thinking, dis-ease and emotional dysregulation which no longer serve them.
