About the Author

Randall Kanna(ランドール・カンナ):12歳のときにコーディングを始め、neopets.comのオンライン通貨でWebサイトを販売していた。ブロックチェーンに取り組み始めた途端、すべてが一周して振り出しに戻った。EventbriteやPandoraなどでシニアソフトエンジニアとして働いている。

David H.     ブロックチェーンやイーサリアムの概要から始まり、テスト駆動開発で実践的にアプリを作っていく。

    解説と実践を織り交ぜ理解を深めることができる傑作書と言えるだろう。

    しかし、イーサリアムの知識が不足しているとブロックチェーンの動作が解らなかったり、プログラミング初心者にはコードの内容の理解が難しいだろう。

    内容自体は難しく半分程度しかできていませんが、解説が丁寧で訳注もしっかり補足説明がありありがたかったです。

    p54 truffle test を実行した際にレスポンスが一切ありませんでした。色々調べましたが私の環境(mac m1 でnodebrew利用)では、以下実行してパーミッション追加の必要がありました。

    npm i -g truffle add sudo

    p70 openzeppelin-solidity

    truffle-config.js の88行目を以下のようにした方がスマートなようです。

    version: "0.8.10",

    他のプログラム言語の経験が2年ほどあり、Solidityは学習し始めて２か月ほどです。Dappの作成の一連の流れが理解できます。ただし、読んだのは英語版ですが。ロジスティクスのDappを作ってみましたが、Solidityのコーディングよりも、Javascriptでフロントエンドを作成するほうが時間がかかりました。今後はReactとBootstrapを勉強しようと思います。

    テストがどの章にも記載しており、一旦「概要だけ知りたい」とか「簡単にアプリを作成したい」とかができない。

    誰にでも分かりやすく的なことを序盤に言ってた割に専門用語を軽く出して説明もない。

    2年ぐらいエンジニアやってるが、難しかった。

    絶版にした方がよい内容です。理由として

    ・情報が古く、環境構築さえままならない（parityは現在使えない為他を使う必要がある）

    ・コードを順に足して開発していくのだが、「以下のようにテストを追加する」と書かれる見本のコードが毎回どの部分が追加されたか書体や色も変えてないので、間違え探しのように自分で理解する必要がある

    ・githubのサンプルコードもsolidityのversionが古くそのままでは動かない為手を加える必要がある

    ネットで同じ問題にぶち当たっている人の解説を探しながら進める必要があり、非常に疲れます。
