Hebbex D'expectatio Expectata is a Norwegian experimental music trio based in Stavanger. The group is an evolution of a long-standing duo consisting of Kjetil Brandsdal and Thore Warland, who have released five duo LPs on DMR.
The project expanded into its current trio format with the addition of vocalist Helge Thornes, a figure from the Norwegian psychobilly and dancehall scenes of the 80’s and 90’s. Kva er Vald is the trio’s first album. It showcases their blend of found music, polyrhythms and vocals. Lyrical themes are eclectic, drawing from the unfinished novels of Aubrey Beardsley, Roman tragedies, and Norwegian journalism.
Recorded and mixed by Gaute Granli, mastered by Audun Strype. Illustration by Prins Preben. Screen printed cover. Clear vinyl with debossed label.

Tape edition of Psudoku album nr. 4.5. 2 colour screen print on cassette case + 2 colour screen print on holographic foil J-card.
As a duo, Kjetil Brandsdal (Noxagt, Ultralyd, No Balls) and Thore Warland (Staer, Golden Oriole, Tørrfall, Plan Affine) have released a series of 5 albums where they have processed a wide range of source material from musical history.
In HEBBEX D’EXPECTATIO EXPECTATA they continue this work and are now flanked by Helge Thornes, who has a background in dancehall and psychobilly (Troubletone Soundsystem, HBX Crew, Oransjt Mareritt). The lyrics discuss Aubrey Beardsley’s unfinished novels, Roman tragedies and Norwegian newspaper journalism. Spa Day is their first release and gives the listener a taste of the upcoming Kva er Vald LP (due March 2026). The B-side, Meanderers (also on the Kva er Vald LP), is an exclusive instrumental version recorded before the forming of the trio. Recorded and mixed by Gaute Granli, mastered by Audun Strype. Illustration by Prins Preben. Screen printed foil cover and screen printed label.
Since the duo’s inception in 2021, Kjetil Brandsdal and Thore Warland have released 5 LPs of their turntablism/percussion blend. This is their first single before adding Helge Thornes as a vocalist and morphing into Hebbex d’Expectatio Expectata. Recorded during the 2023 Get Next recording sessions at Consulatet in Stavanger, this single compresses the duo’s sound and approach into two 3-minute no-nonsense tracks.
Pressures of the Fresh is a hectic electro-pastiche drowned in the murky waters of 1987. Slow Money is a slow-tempo song with lush musical arrangements combining musique concrète and Dutch New Wave. Recorded and mixed by Gaute Granli, mastered and cut by Frédéric Alstadt.
Screen printed foil cover and screen printed labels.
HYPOTAEDIUM is a 45-minute acousmatic composition consisting of 11 parts. The piece was conceived utilising the seven reverberation chambers at Tou Scene and the performance was recorded by Gaute Granli. This is Kjetil Brandsdal and Thore Warland’s fifth album and also the fifth in a series of records on Drid Machine Records featuring hand assembled and foil stamped Procédé Heliophore covers. Much like the source material that is re-worked, looped and cut-up throughout the piece itself, the cover makes use of sleeves from bargain bin LPs. The album features a screen printed unipak-style gatefold, screen printed labels and reddish vinyl. Liner notes by Ray Heston.

First ever reissue of 1996 album by Espen Jensen and Kjetil Brandsdal, originally a self-released LP of 108 copies. Mastered by Lasse Marhaug.
Kjetil Brandsdal & Thore Warland played their first concert at Rimi/Imir Scenekunst the 11th of June, 2021. This resulted in a live-recording and the launch of a new LP series on Drid Machine Records. All releases will feature covers with exclusive hand-printed screen prints by Drid Machine and foil designs by Bokbinderiet Erland in Stavanger.
Known from bands like Noxagt, No Balls, Ultralyd, Staer, Golden Oriole and Burning Axis, they have in this duo-format developed a new and unexpected soundscape. A simultaneous stream of multi-folded repetitious rhythms and melodies spin into a magnetic pool of confusing harmony.
Record comes complete with a screen printed innersleeve and linoleum-coloured vinyl. 300 numbered copies.

STAER’s first release was a one-sided split LP (w/Kjetil Møster) on DMR. After extensive touring, two LPs on Gaffer Records and a split 7” (w/Horacio Pollard) on Le Petit Mignon the band is now back on DMR for this 12”EP. The record features two harsh funk abstractions at a total of 16 minutes. These are the last recordings the band made before their ongoing hiatus. The EP features a screen printed and die cut inner sleeve along with a 2-colour screen printed silver foil cover. Clear vinyl. Design by Kristoffer Riis. DMR will be releasing remastered edtions of the two STAER LPs in 2016.
2 tracks, totalling 18 minutes, of delirious electro-funk. Horacio Pollard rocks the mic and harmonica while one turbid groove blends seamlessly into another. His most infectious release yet. Full colour labels. 4-colour screen printed cover - die-cut and hand-assembled.

Recorded during the same session as the Frequencies of Seizure tape on DMR, HORACIO POLLARD delivers a 3 minute foggy funk masterpiece. This record marks the first KJETIL D BRANDSDAL solo-release in 16 years. Solo bass recorded live at Gullrent by Morten J. Olsen. 2-colour screen print on silver hologram paper. Orange vinyl.
Live recording from their 2013 European Tour - which also turned out to be the band's last show. Features material from Terribly Well and two previously unreleased tracks. 50 min. cassette. 4-colour screen printed cover.

This is the second instalment in the DMR split-LP series. Arrows indicate groove direction. 2-colour screen print on side 2. Comes in a deluxe PVC sleeve.
Klepp-based one-man-band coming across as a refreshing mix of early Half Japanese and Mahogany Brain. Stream of consciousness lyrics delivered with a passionate nonchalance. B/w Admiration for Punk Girls. Screen printed silver foil cover. Limited copies with gold foil and silver foil hologram covers.

BRUTAGE is the band's fourth album and the first to feature John Hegre (also of Jazzkammer) on guitar. John’s guitar work is predominantly textural - providing an intense, yet soothing counterpoint to the brutal rhythm section. The album contains four lengthy tracks which are a natural continuation on the band’s penchant for repetition and heaviness. As with all previous NOXAGT albums, the album cover features a photograph by Torbjørn Rødland.
