As Diego's mother, my heart overflows with love and memories of my dear Bork. His journey began with a diagnosis that shook our world: Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia ALL. But through it all Diego's spirit remained unyielding. After three years of treatment, He emerged victorious, embracing life with a zest that warmed our souls. He reveled in the simple joys, immersing himself in books, games, and music. His laughter filled our home, a beacon of light in even the darkest moments.
But in 2018 cancer's cruel grip tightened once more, with little hope in El Salvador, we turned to St Jude, where Diego's fight continued. Amidst the whirlwind of treatment and tests, his courage never wavered. Yet, as we neared the end, fate dealt us a cruel blow. Pulmonary fibrosis stole his breath, and on heartbreaking New Year's Day, my beloved Diego earned his wings.
Diego's journey began with a brave battle against leukemia, but his story is one of hope, resilience, and love. Despite the challenges, his spirit shone bright, touching hearts and inspiring all who knew him.
