“This roof feels like it has always belonged to the house.” EcoSmart Construct recently completed a technically demanding leak remediation and metal roofing project on a historic residence in Boca Raton’s Old Floresta district, a neighborhood defined by its distinctive architecture and long-standing character. The property had suffered recurring leaks over an extended period. The roof geometry was complex: numerous dormers, significant elevation changes, limited site access, and extensive custom sheet metal fabrication requirements. It was the kind of combination that had led other contractors to pass on the project. A thorough roof inspection identified failed wall flashings around the building’s perimeter as the primary source of water intrusion. Our team designed a custom two-piece counter flashing system to permanently resolve the issue. Around it, we built the full roofing solution: double-layer Polystick XFR underlayment, a new standing-seam aluminum roof, and every flashing and transition detail hand-fabricated on site. The result delivers long-term protection against South Florida’s wind-driven rain, hurricane exposure, and extreme UV conditions. A seasonal home needs to stay protected, especially when no one is there. That was the priority for the owner of this waterfront property in Pompano Beach. The existing tile roof was 25 years old and approaching the end of its service life. With the home unoccupied for part of the year, another temporary repair wasn’t the right long-term answer. EcoSmart Construct replaced the 5,505-square-foot roof with a premium Polyglass waterproofing system finished with Newpoint Barcelona 900 concrete roof tiles. The waterfront location added another challenge. With a zero-lot-line design and very limited access along the Intracoastal Waterway, material deliveries, debris removal and equipment placement all had to be carefully coordinated throughout the project. Approximately one month later, the home had a new roofing system designed for lasting protection in South Florida’s demanding coastal environment.
