Beautiful!
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2020The way Katrina weaves micro-poetry is amazing and beautiful. So many colors of emotion in few words makes a rich deep painting of love, hurt and all the feelings between.
I look forward to reading her next collection!

I feel like I lived each poem - amazing!
Reviewed in the United States on November 1, 2020Starting with the title, Katrina has crafted a gorgeous, heartwarming, heart-rending, intensely personal memoir-cum-poetry collection. I could hardly put it down and finished it in, I think, three sittings. (For a tortoise-slow reader, that's like anyone else saying, "I read it in 30 minutes!")
Because this book tells a story (a very true one, I believe), with twists and turns, I don't want to describe the content in any kind of detail because you owe it to yourself to go in fresh and live these poems in the way that I am sure the author lived them herself. What I will say is that, as I go through my highlights and notes for this review, I must have enjoyed these pieces a lot because I marked no fewer than four as "favorite." At some point I gave up and just highlighted practically every other poem.
From one poem to the next -- at times, from one verse to the next -- I felt joy, agony, terror, disbelief, hope, and the shattering of hope in turn. It occurred to me after I finished The Way We Fall by Katrina Lippolis that I felt blessed to be able to close the covers on many of the poems: the pain was significant at times. But I wonder how Katrina fares now? After all, she can't just put those experiences down like a book. I guess I'll just have to read her other books to answer that question. And I'm sure you'll want to do the same thing.
It's like nothing I've ever read before.
PS
For the record, the pieces I marked as "My favorite!" before giving up on using that label are:
* Only You
* Perfection
* My Perfume
* Stay

The Way We Fall
Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2020Poets fall in love a little deeper, especially with words. Katrina R. Lippolis certainly makes her readers fall in love with each line of this, her passionate poetry debut. From love to heavenly descriptions, and ghosts that dance, she weaves for poetry lovers elegant lines filled with emotions that lay bare the human soul. I lookforward to reading other works by this poetess.

Soulful
Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2020I gave this book of poetry 5 stars because any of these poems can relate to any mood you're in by reaching into your heart and soul and just knowing that you're not the only one who feels these feelings you go through. Its the little things in life that matter the most.

Love in it's glory!
Reviewed in the United States on July 14, 2020This collection takes us through love at it's beginning and it's ending. A beautiful collection that shows all the emotion that many feel but can only express through tears. In these poems, you can tell that Ms. Lippolis just might have first-hand knowledge of the subject.
