Buffering the Vampire Slayer
Hello and welcome to our Patreon page, conveniently located where two of Sunnydale's premiere creepy back alleys intersect! We are so very delighted that you stopped by. Please be sure to watch your step for pools of blood and errant hellmouths. What is Buffering: A Rewatch Adventure? Buffering: A Rewatch Adventure began in 2016 with Buffering the Vampire Slayer, an episodic rewatch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, hosted byJenny Owen Youngs (professional musician & recreational Whedonverse aficionado) and Kristin Russo (professional writer & former goth teen) — and now continues through some of the most iconic genre shows rooted in the 90s and 00s. We recently rewatched Season 1 of Yellowjackets at the tail end of 2022 with Doomcoming: A Yellowjackets Podcast (and yes, we will be rewatching Season 2 in anticipation of the third season!), and are now journeying through The eX-Files, our episodic rewatch of (you guessed it) The X-Files. Why Patreon? Podcasting about our favorite TV shows is a dream come true, but it’s the kind of dream that takes up oodles and oodles of time. We spend countless hours each week recording and producing episodes with our Buffering team — a wonderful bunch humans who help us edit, research, schedule, and who also work to keep our work and our online spaces as safe (and fun) as possible. There are also a number of expenses related to running the show: website hosting, podcast distribution, recording equipment and software, and any number of other incidentals. Patreon support helps offset those costs, and also gives us a space to share all of our regular content - which is and shall remain free to all - in combination with extras and bonus material for our incredible supporters. As part of our ongoing efforts to create and maintain an anti-racist base here at Buffering the Vampire Slayer, our Black and Indigenous listeners can access all of our patreon digital content (everything except the exclusive merch shipments) for no charge. You can learn more about our efforts, and request access, at bufferingcast.com/justkeepfighting Fang You Very Much! Thank you SO much for listening to our podcast! We love 90s television — specifically the kinds that are chock full of vampires, magic, aliens, and nostalgia, and it’s an absolute blast to dig into TV episodes and beloved characters with all of you. If you like what we do, please tell your friends, family, and any ensouled vampires with whom you may be acquainted. And if you are able to support us here on Patreon, we'd truly and deeply appreciate it. With all our love and custom fangs, Jenny & Kristin PS: After joining, you should get a welcome email that includes the link to our secret Facebook page! If you don't receive it, look to the "Featured Tags" section on the bottom left hand side of the page, and you'll see the link for it there! We approve new patrons on Thursday and Mondays! AwooooooooooOOOOooo!
