The Light Behind
THE NEW EP
On The Light Behind, Ruby Greenberg returns to the acoustic sounds of folk music that first inspired her to write songs. Pairing intimate songwriting with the magic of gathering musicians together in one room, the record takes shape through shared ideas and individual voices. "After talking through the intention of this collection of songs with my producer, Jeff Fettig, we made the choice together to record a band live in the studio, with minimal retracking and sparse layering of overdubs. Knowing this would sound a touch less modern, almost a little retro, felt right. We opted for one weekend of studio playing. I wanted to make something that felt imperfect, human, and alive, to breathe an organic energy and quality into these songs."
“Exactly what people need right now” - Indie Band Guru
“ An old soul and angelic voice” - Music Crowns
“you are going to want to have this in your music collection, not just for its delicately adorned sound and its clever blend of groove and understatement, but because these are the sort of songs that even after just one spin you find yourself humming along when you least expect it.” - Dancing About Architecture
