WHAT IS WORDS OF THANKS?

Words of Thanks is an organization dedicated to spreading love, appreciation, and encouragement through handmade cards and digital messages to those affected directly & indirectly by COVID-19. 

You can volunteer in a number of ways:
  • Write letters as a one time thing
  • Become an ambassador and receive bi-weekly letter-writing assignments 
  • Host a group activity!

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

There are THREE ways you can get involved with Words of Thanks!

Write letters/messages to hospitals just once! Letters can be mailed or digital. 
Receive bi-weekly letter-writing & related assignments! Looks great on resumes/etc!
You will write letters to workers as a group! A great option for companies, clubs, etc!

WHAT TO INCLUDE IN YOUR LETTER:

  • Make sure they are not to a specific person- start your letter with a simple dear workers, dear senior, dear friend, etc.
  • Make sure you thank healthcare workers, ​they are helping fight this disease!
  • For senior citizens and ill-patients, you can write about yourself, tell a joke/quote/story, or write an uplifting message!
  • Be creative! Use colors and designs!
  • If you are writing a handwritten letter, carefully write the address on the envelope. You do not have to include a return address.
When writing your letter...
  • Do not include personal information like phone numbers.
  • You can choose to stay anonymous.
  • Make sure you use appropriate language.

TYPES OF LETTERS YOU CAN WRITE:

MAILED LETTER

These letters must be handwritten, stamped, and mailed out to the correct address.

DIGITAL/TYPED MESSAGE

Some hospitals only accept digital (text only) messages. This would be done through a digital form.

PHOTO/EMAIL MESSAGE

This can be a photo of a traditional card, a poster, kind email, etc. The message would be send over email.
