Mission Statement
The mission of the Berkeley Heights Police Department is to protect and serve all people without bias in an efficient and professional manner. We will enhance the quality of life while instilling a sense of security within the community.
Members of the Berkeley Heights Police Department are vigilant in their patrol efforts and aware of their role as national security agents to guard against terrorism in addition to their regular duties.
All members of the Department are aware of global concerns relating to terrorism and act locally to deter terrorist activity or crimes that contribute to terrorism. All members will seek to uncover suspicious activity, share, and coordinate information relating to such activity and be vigilant to protect critical infrastructure that could be vulnerable to attack.
Members of the Berkeley Heights Police Department are aware that the manner in which we conduct ourselves while providing law enforcement services affects the public perception of our professionalism.
Our mission is a contract with the citizens we are sworn to protect, as well as an affirmation of their trust. Each employee is charged with protecting and promoting the essential elements of this contract.
