Behold, my first ever full length album, Beginnings. This album was a revelation. It developed and was recorded in extremely quick time. Like 6 days quick. I’d set out just to start making music again after quite a number of months not doing so. I’d made dribs and drabs, but there was nothing serious. Then last weekend, I got the itch to create and the 10 tracks that will soon hear are the fruits of my labour. Just like with Mechanism, Endlesss has been my tool of choice. I have never felt more at home creating than I am using Endlesss. I have waxed lyrical about this app before and I no doubt will again. To me, it really is magical and has become an extension of my creativity in a way no other app or piece of software ever has before. I turn 40 next October. I’ve told people for years how I’m a “singer songwriter” and a “beat maker” but I have very little to show for it, except for an EP written in 2008 on a 4 track and releasing Mechanism which was recorded during the pandemic last April. I’m determined that I won't let anxiety win and I’m going to cram as much creativity and music making into the next 12 months as I possibly can. I have so many projects planned and this album is the very beginning of it. It's been a rough couple of years personally, pandemic aside. However, when my mental health has taken a bashing and the chips are down, I will look at this album as a monument to show me that I have purpose and I can create. As proud as I am/was of Mechanism, this is next level in so many ways. There are thousands of songs released each week. If I'm fortunate enough that this music reaches your ears, please know I'm extremely grateful that you spent your time listening to it.
