PostgreSQL Anonymizer fixes ways around data masking

PostgreSQL Anonymizer 3.3 fixes twelve vulnerabilities, including paths that could let masked users read personal data or gain privileges. The extension hides sensitive values for users, exports and other workflows. Its fixes also restrict masking rules and function execution, so upgrading can change existing behavior. Dalibo advises all users to upgrade and rotate the extension’s masking salt.

CUDA adds enforced memory limits for shared GPUs

CUDA 13.4 adds enforced memory boundaries for workloads sharing an NVIDIA GPU, with fixed caps or a reserved minimum and burst limit. A GPU Fractioning Operator applies these settings, while KAI Scheduler assigns capacity in Kubernetes. Compute-sharing mode matters: time-sliced workloads have separate error isolation, but workloads running concurrently through SM sharing share an error domain and should be trusted together.

Python’s proposed path to a supported JIT is withdrawn

The authors withdrew PEP 836, which proposed conditions for turning CPython’s experimental just-in-time compiler into a supported feature. Savannah Ostrowski says the team lacks the bandwidth to carry the current proposal forward, while still supporting its technical direction. The withdrawal settles the proposal’s status; it does not itself show that a released Python version has removed its JIT.

The fx adapter keeps model requests on the application host

Vercel’s fx adapter for AI SDK HarnessAgent now runs the agent runtime and model requests in the application’s host process, while built-in filesystem and shell tools execute in a sandbox. The libfx library removes the need to install the agent inside that sandbox or expose a bridging port. Model credentials stay on the host; custom tools and remote tool connections require their own permission review.

DeepSeek Harness experiments with delegating to local coding CLIs

DeepSeek Harness 0.2.2-alpha.2 adds an experimental plugin that delegates independent tasks to locally installed Codex or Claude command-line tools. Another experimental plugin exposes context use, cache behavior and time spent in models and tools. These additions let developers explore coordinating existing coding tools and inspect where a run spends resources, but both arrive in a prerelease rather than a stable integration.

Estuary limits recovery backfills without filtering ongoing changes

Estuary’s PostgreSQL connector now accepts a per-table SQL filter for backfills, letting operators recover a selected range instead of rereading an entire large table. The filter affects historical reads only: ongoing change-data capture still receives new changes independently. New schema and table discovery controls, plus configurable rediscovery, let operators trade faster schema detection against additional database catalog queries.

GitHub’s activity report shows association, not an agent productivity test

GitHub’s 2026 Octoverse report says new repositories containing agent configuration files averaged eight times as many commits as new repositories without them. That is an observational comparison: configuration files indicate adoption, and commit counts do not establish software quality or a causal productivity gain. The report examines GitHub activity from October 2025 through September 2026, across public and private repositories unless otherwise specified.

Oxynote puts live database charts beside reviewed runbooks

Oxynote is an open-source technical wiki that places live query charts beside documentation and routes page changes through drafts, diffs and approval. Its database charts support PostgreSQL, MySQL and MariaDB, alongside Prometheus metrics. PostgreSQL connections must be read-only, and sessions run in read-only mode. A runbook can therefore show replication lag next to its explanation and response steps.

Coding agents change which personal tools are worth attempting

Dan Luu argues that coding agents make some formerly impractical personal tool projects worth attempting, including custom search and Rust build experiments. He distinguishes a tool that works for his workload from a maintained product, and says implementation capability is advancing faster than autonomous verification. His examples support an argument about changing project costs, rather than a universal productivity or performance multiplier.

Box Mount brings synced files into Vercel Sandbox

Box Mount can sync a Box folder into Vercel Sandbox so an agent works with ordinary files while changes synchronize back to Box. The sync process and agent use separate sandbox users, keeping Box credentials outside the agent’s workspace. The integration is a private preview, and its documented shutdown sequence requires unmounting before stopping the sandbox so writes persist.
