ok I am impressed, only took a few iterations and Claude built this entirely in the browser. My tweaks were things like "make the legs inset from the face, I don't want to print with supports." It made the STL and I'm printing it out now! 😍

lmao I do not know how I did this, but by test sending webmention replies to my own website and then deleting the test webmentions, I somehow got my source url BLOCKED from sending anything back to myself for testing.

great. anyone know how to remove this block when it's not in any of the UI? my blocklist on webmention.io is blank.

    #indieweb #webmentions #webmetion

    Aaron Parecki
oops sorry, it does that automatically because it assumes when you delete a webmention you don't want it to automatically come back. The individual URL blocklist isn't visible on the website. I deleted them manually for you though.

@aaronpk Five years on, my friend; time to update to what you're currently working with. Meanwhile, https://swb72.us/life-stack

    Aaron Parecki
wow I can't believe it's been five years since I updated that, I feel like I did an update not that long ago!

@aaronpk One blank short of that device reading “SH*T”. LOL

    Aaron Parecki
omg it says "SHUT" when you look at it, but I guess the refresh rate of the screen was not compatible with the shutter speed of the camera!

@aaronpk Fantastic, I tried this a while ago but was getting multiple posts for every checkin and people apparently didn’t want that much of me in their feeds. :) This was a while ago so I’ll reconnect things and see if I can get it working.

    Aaron Parecki
Hm, I'm guessing it thought the post to you website wasn't successful then, because it definitely should only post them once when it works!

@aaronpk How are you posting check-ins? I was trying to do this via Swarm but the way you’re doing it seems much better.

    Aaron Parecki
I do post them in Swarm! Then this app I made sends them to my website via Micropub https://ownyourswarm.p3k.io/

Where's the TODO list that includes the purchase of real-estate sufficiently large enough to do the TODO ⁉️

    Aaron Parecki
This build is all in a little 2'x4' tent! I'm going to try this a bit bigger at around 6 feet long.

@aaronpk Having a blast seeing these pix of Shenzhen. It’s been about 10 years since I was there and the place looks even bigger now.

    Aaron Parecki
haha thanks! Yeah it's so big! There's so much going on everywhere!

@aaronpk Oh, gotcha. I've been wary about having everything contained to a single device, thought this was something that synced.

In this case, a laptop would use its camera for a QR code scan? I wonder if a Yubikey would be a better option serving all devices.

    Aaron Parecki
Oh, the cross device flow is a separate issue of whether a device syncs. What I'm doing is logging in to a website on a computer, where the passkey is in my phone. The computer shows a QR code and I scan it with my phone and it logs me in.

I also have a Yubikey Bio, which counts as two factors so some websites let me log in with only that, no password. It's also pretty cool.

@aaronpk Isn't the cross-device part usually a challenge there? Or is there a nice way to keep them in sync?

    Aaron Parecki
Not sure what you mean. The cross device flow is where the passkey lives only on the phone and you scan the QR code on the other device. So the key never lives on the other device.

    @aaronpk

Especially when those long passwords are obscured in the entry field. I cannot tell you how many times I've had to double-check the order I was typing stuff in with two index fingers. As opposed to touch typing.

    Aaron Parecki
Exactly! At least with the memorable passwords it's easier to tell if I've typed the right word

"I'll just check my critical thinking and nuke it in the microwave" has to be my favorite quote from this Business Insider video on Trader Joe's white-labeled food
    Aaron Parecki
Oh crap I just realized the "it" he was referring to was probably the food, not his critical thinking.

@aaronpk Are you using something off-the-shelf for that, or something custom?
I've wanted to do something similar for a while, but a lot of the off-the-shelf ones aren't available in Japan (to the best of my knowledge)

    Aaron Parecki
oh I have no idea what it would take to find this in Japan, but I'm using this one: https://www.brultech.com/greeneye/

Everything stays on the local network and doesn't use the internet at all. It also feeds into Home Assistant!

Yes! the Door Access system! I bought this before the tiny one was out otherwise I would have just got that because this is way overkill for one door.
