Oh, my god. This chair is everything I could have hoped for, it's like a corset for my pelvis while also allowing my spine freedom of movement. A chair of this price is a huge expenditure for me, but so far it honestly feels like a bargain (please don't raise the price because I said that). I'm stunned. I suffer from hypermobility/EDS, and I had completely grown accustomed to pushing through pain to even attempt to do my office job. For almost a decade, anything I sat in would result in huge joint pain and misalignment, either right away or - at best - over the course of an hour. That includes task chairs, stools, kneeling chairs, couches, all the way up to high-end office chairs made by companies like Steelcase, Herman Miller and Humanscale. I went through ergonomic assessments to no avail - everything left me with a tilted pelvis, rounded shoulders and a furious spine. Over that time, my job performance deteriorated to the point I was on long-term disability leave. Within a week, the CoreChair Elite made all that feel like a shockingly distant memory. I can make it through full work days without impairment or brain fog. I feel better after an eight-hour work day in this chair than I do when I wake up in the morning. I'm kind of at a loss for words...either that or I could gush for nine more paragraphs about this chair. So I'll just let my rating speak for itself. p.s. The reed green is such a nice colour! It doesn't necessarily translate on the shop page, I thought it looked mostly grey, but in person it's lovely.
CoreChair Elite
Ergonomic Active-Sitting Chair
Front · Dusted BlueThe principle“The key is to just keep moving.”
Dr. Joan Vernikos, former Director of NASA’s Life Sciences Division and author of Sitting Kills, Moving Heals, on sedentary living generally. She is describing movement, not this chair, and has no association with CoreChair.Where we come inIf movement is what matters, a chair should let you do it without thinking about it. That is what the Elite is built for — and what the research on active sitting sets out to test.
Movement becomes part of your day, not a break from it.
Engineered for the way your body actually works, the Elite’s patented active-sitting mechanism allows up to 14 degrees of tilt in every direction — so natural movement becomes part of your day, not a break from it. The result: a stronger core, freer joints, and circulation that keeps pace with you.
Adjustable resistance lets you decide how much movement is right for you, whether you’re easing in or leaning into a full active-sitting experience.
Nothing on it is decoration.

Three planes of support — seat, lumbar, thoracic — each shaped for a different part of the load.
- FrontThree planes of support — seat, lumbar, thoracic — each shaped for a different part of the load.
- Left profileThe seat sits above the mechanism, so movement happens beneath your sit bones rather than behind your back.
- RearThe Clever Spine column carries the two-tier back and lets the upper support flex instead of locking.
- Right profileA low-profile silhouette — the height and depth of a normal task chair, with none of the bulk.
For people who want active sitting, but still expect a taller back.
Elite keeps the CoreChair seat and movement foundation, then adds an upper-back support that feels more familiar without turning the chair into a static recliner.

Choose Elite if this sounds like you.
Best for buyers who want Classic CoreChair movement plus a more familiar taller-back profile and an additional reclined position.
Elite is Classic from the seat down. The difference is the two-tier back: pelvic support below, dynamic thoracic support above.
Tall two-tier back for buyers hesitant about Classic’s short profile.
Thoracic support gives a place to rest without giving up the active seat.
Best fit when you want CoreChair mechanics inside a more traditional desk-chair outline.
Like the Classic, the Elite maintains a low-profile appearance to make you look great.
Every detail has a job.
Two-tier support
Pelvic support below, flexible thoracic support above — more familiar without becoming a static recliner.
Clever Spine back
Patent-pending upper-back support moves through flexible material instead of locking the torso in place.
Adjustable height
Upper back support can be positioned for a cleaner fit across different body types.
Active seat
The CoreChair movement foundation remains under the sit bones, with up to 14 degrees of controlled tilt.
Refined posture cue
Discrete elbow-rest shaping and tapered support give a place to pause without shutting movement down.

The critical difference
Traditional High-Back Chairs:
- Provide static upper back support
- Restrict natural movement
- Force prolonged static postures
- Let muscle fatigue and stiffness build through the day
CoreChair Elite Tall Back:
- Provides dynamic upper back support
- Enables natural movement
- Allows continuous postural variation
- Eases the fatigue that builds in fixed postures

Two-hour comparative studyMemorial University
CoreChair participants adopted a more upright posture and reported less lower-back pain, back stiffness and physical tiredness than those using a control chair.
Four-hour studyUniversity of Guelph
Participants moved more in CoreChair than in a traditional office chair, with measured benefits in indicators related to circulation and attention.
Pressure mappingCornell University
An ergonomics class led by Dr. Alan Hedge compared CoreChair with a conventional ergonomic task chair using anthropometrics, pressure mapping during typing and comfort surveys, and reported fewer pressure points on CoreChair.

Real workdays with Elite.
I literally had the Anthros in my shopping cart. The shipping/duties values didn't make sense and I reached out to them to get confirmation. If I was going to fork out 3k+ Canadian, I wanted this nailed down in advance. That said, while I was waiting for them to get back to me "the next day" (this was 3-4 weeks ago and they still havent followed up with me) I came across the CoreChair elite. I had seen CoreChair years back and it was appealing but I didn't want to get a chair without a back. The way I saw it... if I was prepared to spend $3k+ on the Anthros... I might as well try the Corechair elite first and return it if it doesnt work for me. I'm on my third week.... LOWER BACK PAIN GONE. Was dealing with it for about 2 months, and then had hernia surgery 5 weeks which had me mostly bed ridden for 3 weeks, which aggravated it even further. THIS WAS THE MOVE. I was worried that it was going to feel like an ab crunch all day... it's subtle and you can adjust how much it moves. Posture never been better and improving by the day. Had a bit of soreness mid-end of last week which I've learned is normal as your body relearns how to be in good posture. I had the movement on max so I dialed it back to halfway ish to ease my body into it and no soreness this week. Will give it another week or two before dialing up the movement again. Very pumped that I went this route. Highly recommend. I may even get a second one for another room.
I’ll start with the obvious, the chair is incredible. As someone who works from home full time, I can actually feel it doing its job, while I’m comfortable and that’s everything. But honestly, what blew me away was the customer service. I ran into an issue (completely my own fault), and the owner personally FaceTimed me to walk me through it. He was so kind and patient, no judgment, just genuine care. As a millennial, I don’t think I’ve ever experienced that level of personal service from a company. It felt like a different era, in the best possible way. And the packaging? Whoever packed this chair clearly took pride in their work. Everything was thoughtful and intentional, from design through execution, you could just tell. This is the kind of small business that deserves every bit of support. You’re buying into people who actually care. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!
