The University of Toledo has invited Zionist commentator, Thomas Friedman, to campus on September 10th to give a talk on “The Big Trends Shaping the World Today: Economics, Technology and Geopolitics ”. Students for Justice in Palestine at the University of Toledo vehemently condemns this invitation and the administration’s decision to platform a speaker whose rhetoric consistently white-washes war crimes and disregards the rights of our people. Our campus is no place for those who have manufactured consent for the genocide and occupation in Palestine and israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. We call on the University administration to rescind Friedman's invitation, upholding their vision of creating a diverse community built upon foundations of respect.
